Hey wyo, your trainer Mark, does he wear a Wyoming cowboys hat by chance?
Been liking your thread. It's always nice to hear other May drivers that are having a decent time out there. If you see a prostar with Colorado state logos and bubba army stickers give me holler. I'm in truck 3372. -
LOL! No cowboys hat! In fact he's now team driving for another May Owner-Op.
Been busy since my last post. On a side note, I wish all Recceivers could be like Costco. At both Costco in Salt Lake, and In New Jersey, you show up at the gate, hand 'em your paperwork, they give you a pager and a door number. You back in, when the pager goes off, you're unloaded, you drive back to the gate, hand in the pager, and they hand you your paperwork. I was in and out of both in under an hour. Plus, the only time you leave your` truck is to open your doors! NICE!!!
After the final drops in Salt Lake, Was dispatched to New Jersey. After unloading there, was sent to Fogelsville, PA. Been driving long enough now that I'm stasrting to repeat customers.
That load went to Johnstown, NY. Arrived Just as THe big storm was hitting the norttheast. Plus after getting delayed by walmart for 6 hours, had to head straight into the storm toward Rochester, NY. Got the last spot in a Flying J at about 3am after sliding all over I90 with an empty trailer. THAT was Fun! LOL
Got loaded the next afternoon in Brockport, NY and headed south toward North Carloina for two stops. Finally left the ice and snow behind as I entered Maryland. Was hoping to see something as I passed Washington, DC, but by accident, I ended up staying on the outer loop the whole way thrtough DC, bummer.
After delivering at my final drop in North Caroliona, was sent to Charlotte to swap trailers with another May driver. THat trailer had three more drops, and drops were rescheduled for Monday the 7th. Keep in mind, This day was Friday the 4th. I let my DM know I was not too happy about taking a forced 50 plus hours off, in Georgia! Plus, I asked why I had to take this load from the other driver. No clear answer. But, I did get two days layover pay for taking it. At least that's something. That's a good example of how May tries to make a bad situation better. Plus they gave me a 1500 mile pre-plan that picks up in Atlanta Tuesday Morning, and heads to Fort Collins, Co.
On another side note, stopped at the Flying J in Commerce, GA friday night. Got up Saturday and went inside. That location has just b een sold, and they don't take the Pillot/Flying J cards, plus no restaurant of any kind. I checked the ole truck stop guide and went 17 miles down the road to the Pilot. Had to get my free shower after all.LOL!
Was able to move here, and still gdet a 34 reset before I have to Leave very Early Monday morning.
So, Here I am, In braselton, GA waiting out my reset, and my delivery on Monday morning. No FOX `channel on the TV, so I guess I can't even watch the sjuperBowl. Oh well. I'll cvatch up on the Dick Van Dyke DVDs my sister sent me. LOL.
Good luck future May newbies. I think you'll find, as companies who hire newbies go, May is by far better than a swift or werner. Of course, just my opinion.
Happy Driving.
THe adventure continues....

Costco runs a tight ship, they are all very organized like that,I've hauled into the dist ctr in Tracy,CA and to a store in Fife,WA and both were as you described very efficient.
There's another thread here somewhere about Costco and how together they are. -
Hi, Clutch
I enjoy your thread. I also applied at May 2 weeks ago, called Amanda she said was going to run DAC and call. May sounds like a good company. I with a trucking company for 7 yrs drove OTR they let of drivers go because of the ecomony. Be Safe GOD BLESS. -
It seems that May still have some good cross country runs. Many of the companies are now regional, even if they don't admit it.
I look forward to your posts Clutch, keep em comin'. -
Do some googling on watching the super bowl on a livestream via internet. There usually isn't an official on line feed but every year its available somewhere.
-
Good luck buddy. Amanda is a sweetheart. She'll get you settled in.

Dryver, yes, May is definitely still all 48 if that's what you want. in fact, they sent out a message a couple weeks ago that they need some of their western drivers to go 48 for a couple months. they've been keeping me running, that's for sure.
My trip to ft. collions, co, got cancelled, but got a longer trip with four drops that took me up to minnessota and south dakota. i only had gtwo days to make the first drop in the twin cities, but that was fine with me, more miles faster. then 1 day going from the twin cities to 2nd drop in rochester, mn, then lacrosse, wi, and then back across minnessota to sioux falls for a drop friday morning. all went well, and the weather acvtually cooperated. it was butt cold, averaging zero, but dry roads.
after dropping in sioux falls on friday morning was sent to waseca, mn to pick up at bird's eye. that's wherre i am now, saturday morning, getting loaded. then once loaded it's off to georgia again to a town called mcDounagh just south of atlanta.
right off the interstate 35 at the waseca, mn exit there's a self-serve CAT scale. never seen a self-serve one before. will be using that after getting loaded, as it's the closest scale to birds eye. will be interested to see how well it works.
happy driving!
Clutch, -
I've been to that birds eye and used that self serve scale. It was pretty neat and really easy to use.
