I have seen the last week, a great number of drivers come up on a 4 wheeler, and are less than 10 feet on there bumper. My opinion, DUMB.
If that 4 wheeler, for some reason, stops fast, Your going to Kill or Hurt someone in that vehicle. This kind of driving is unacceptable in this industry. I saw this car-hauler driving in the right lane, come up on a 4 wheeler, I checked my speedometer, around 55-60 mph the 4 wheeler was driving, and the big truck came up less than 10 ft. of this cars bumper and Just layed on the air horn on this 4 wheeler. DUMB. This kind of aggressive driving is wrong in this industry. They are going to hurt someone. Tailgating with a Big Truck is just poor driving, and makes ALL of us look bad.

we have vorad system in our trucks it beeps when you are less than 6 seconds from something and it keeps record of it so that your office can download the info. If they look at the info and you have too many issues they write you up and can even get to the point of being fired. It is a good system but it is hard to keep that kind of distance now a days.

I agree with both previous posters,Why is it..,Always the actions of the few.....ruin it for the many?????

There's no excuse for it..period. It does appear to be much less now than it has been. I've noticed much better driving habits by the industry overall in the past year or so. What some drivers fail to understand is that there are off duty cops, judges, lawyers that are on the roads in their cars too. Cowboys days are numbered now more than ever before.

I have no idea what race they think they are running And they should be allowed to put the air horns in a warm dark place on the driver and pull the lever.
Drivers like that make it oh so easy for the general public to pass more and more restrictions on drivers -

I find more often than not it's the day cab and container hauling guys doing most of it. When your pay is by the load it tends to encourage getting in a hurry. They also tend to know the roads real well leading to complacency and overconfidence. Pretty stupid.

Then again, when my blinker is on for 2 miles, and I have to start moving over, well it just makes me the "idiot" again, but what can you do..Wargames Thanks this. -
I leave a LOT of room between me and whatever's in front of me. If someone pulls into the space that I leave I either change lanes or slow down and open up a larger space.
The funny thing is....It's usually some idiot in a truck that sees the space and jumps into it! Lately I've found that cars are being a little more respectful of the space that I leave in front of me...Not much more but a little more!Injun, formertaxidriver and Wargames Thank this. -
