Shaffer driver chiming in...there are limestone caves in Missouri. I recently picked-up a load of cheese in the Joplin area at a company located in a limestone cave. Plenty of room to maneuver between the limestone pillars to back into the dock. That's a business, but I don't know about any terminals.

There are several places in the joplin and the KC are where there is under ground storage like the other one said they are old salt mines that have been turned into warehouses. I have never heard of a terminal per say but underground ware houses you bet a ton of them all over.

No, they're not pulling your leg. There are plenty of underground spaces here in KC and my advice is if you have a really large tractor you might want to check out the clearence in the caves. City tractor, most company trucks not really a problem, but a lot of these undergrounds were made for '48 trailers. Also if you have issues with clausterphobia or sensitivity to mold or mildew these places are not for you. And it goes with out saying you must shut off your engine/APU while inside.
