1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

The easiest way to get into the business is to know somebody that knows somebody. That's how it was in my case.

For NASCAR, most of the hauler drivers were drivers in another NASCAR series, or in a lower (local) series. Though some are crew guys as well, but most drive, cook, setup and breakdown the pits at each race.

To get in there its like someone else said, know someone that knows someone and sometimes that doesn't work. The owners aren't going to just hand the keys over to just anyone to haul a load over millon bucks

Now that is my husband's dream job; to drive for a team and do their cooking. He was a lifetime before going into trucking. His goal is to land a job driving for a team.

Deffinatly check Craigs list, I live in Charlotte, NC not far from the Nascar capital of the world lol, and my dad found his job on Craigs list, he drives a Carhauler for the Offcial Nascar Experiance. Low pay but cool job none the less lol. They offerd me a job when I turned 21...I turned it down though, low pay weird schedual and no benifits. I might do it later just for fun but I wanted real OTR experiance first.

He claims he doesn't care about the pay, it is just something he wants to do. Insurance benefits are through my job anyway.
