UPS Freight is hiring in Florida.

 

This could very well be true and yes one can apply online at their website but you never hear from them, from any of the divisions. If you search this site for UPS you can see that people have applied and someone even said they called him about a year after his application. They are a hard company to get on with but worth it if you can. I am still waiting..

 

Roadway had an ad, Pepsi also, Wingfoot(formerly goodyear I think), Saia, PFG(food group). There are jobs, however they have stopped going door to door-to see if you're interested......

 

I believe that. Trucking companies can afford to be very picky right now and I agree you have to get out there to get the work.

Pepsi and Saia are also advertising in my area.

Pepsi is always advertising, they cannot seem to keep drivers maybe because it is 3 days max at .36c a mile (most of the time it is 1 or 2 days a week) - thay cannot give you any more than 3 days because then you are deemed fulltime and they would have to pay you benefits. The only way you can get on fulltime is if someone leaves or dies... Good luck on that happening..

Saia I just don't get, they advertise quite a lot and I apply each time, I have the experience, a clean driving/felony record and yet I don't hear from them. Even went down to the Terminal, you cannot get in the gate, the guard told me that if you want employment to apply online. I don't blame them really they probably have 100's of applicants. One cannot help wondering that when they look at the resumes they take Male over Female.? Less complications I guess as I know we can be REAL *****....

 

pepsi a good job if you get line haul out of orlando. i talked to one of the guys that pulls double 48 on the turnpike. good money.
Thats the other problem that sacred mentioned about the full time. The driver I talkd to was fulltime, he was sayn pepsi hires alot of temps that tear up the trucks.. He just startd laughn, and no experience is required as long as you have your CDL

 

I also live in bradenton and am finding it hard to get a driving job from this area i have 20 yrs otr but none recient i am thinking of buying a truck and seeing what i can find out there.
