I've said it before, and i will say it again: SLOW DOWN!! PAY ATTENTION!! Do we need to start doing like Biff Tannen and knock some heads and say "think McFly, think." Their is no excuse for this. I hope they find the driver that did this, simply because justice needs to be served. :biggrin_25516: :violent3: :smt071

My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family. They are also with Celadon. May her journey to the next life be great and filled with ease. (walks away shaking head)

My condolences to the family and those who knew her. The traffic in that Loves is bad, you really have to watch out and be prepared to move away from someone in a hurry to fuel or someone in a hurry to leave or get parked. Buzzing the lot shouldn't be allowed, but sadly, no one seems to get concerned until someone gets hurt or killed.

The one on 78 doesn't seem as bad but pedestrians have to watch out whenever they are around trucks.

I have a safety vest which I haven't worn much, and a safety stocking cap which I do. I guess I should have bought a reflective coat, but I haven't yet

The time of day would have put that in predawn twilight, but that one is illuminated better than some others..

Sometimes, lighting and time of day mean nothing. I was very nearly hit in the parking lot in the TA in Winton, CA. I was watching, and would have been hit if one my husband's co-workers hadn't literally thrown me up against a light post. "Froggie" was yelling at that guy to beat the band when Stave dragged me inside.

I'm at the new Stripes in Ft Stockton. About 20 minutes ago, I headed inside to brush my teeth and get ready to start moving. This is a very well-lit parking lot. I am parked in the front corner. Yes, I saw him coming....from the far rear of the lot flew this Covenant truck. He was going at least 25mph as he passed the fuel island on his way out. I was in no danger, but he almost ran down a car that was southbound on Hwy 285 toward the freeway. He had to jam on his brakes to keep from hitting the car that was already on the street.

If your load is so important that you can't spend an extra minute in the truck stop to move at a reasonable speed, perhaps you shouldn't have stopped at the truck stop. Park on the git-on ramp and let someone else have that parking spot.

she was such a great driver and as i got to know her we became friends and that was a great thing, no one ever really thinks about the smallest things like just walking across the parking lot of a truck stop, she definietly didnt deserve to lose her life this way but I do know she was committed to driving a truck as long as she could hold a steering wheel.

yes that was the intial perception but according to the truck stop mgr who has the video, there may be witnesses and the truck stop manager and state police are saying that this driver that hit her clearly knew he or she did this and intentionaly left the scene, obv they are not saying how they know this. I just hope and pray that this person is caught and pays for what he/she has done.

yes this is tragic and this is the first time something like this has happened in my 11 years of this industry, I have had many drivers who have had really bad accidents and came out ok but nothing as tragic as this

yes in regards to this celadon is very generous considering everyone at the corporate headquarters where i work knew her, she was just this type of a person and she never ever met a stranger, she liked everyone. and would do anything to help a fellow trucker out in need. i admit it is tough esp when you get to know drivers and talk to them every single day, i try to keep my mind focused with my work, but i do still think of her
