Hey there
Been reading some of the Schneider threads here and enjoying them a lot.
I applied online for the Ford dedicated account out of Stockton CA, however my experience was not sufficient. Recruiter called me however to talk about 11 western regional, talked about averaging 2200 a week and said the option was there to go east, but your own decision to do so.
Anyway was wondering if anyone on here had experience or information about this position good or bad.
Appreciate any info

I've been running 11 western for the past few months out of the Fontana OC, and so far so good. It has it's pros and cons, as everything does at times. Pros are you stay somewhat close to home (I live close to the OC and some weeks I can do my DOT break at home 1-2 times), no driving to the northeast or the mid west where all this crazy snow is coming down. Cons are you don't get the long coast to coast runs. Average run I've had is about 4-500. I've don't local runs that are less than 2 miles and longer runs (1,400 miles) too. 80% of the runs I do are up and down the I-5, with a fee runs to Arizona, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Denver.

Hey all, I am starting in March doing the Western 11, 2 on 1 off thing. I am a fresh grad and I was debating between Watkins Shepard,Werner,Swift and Schneider.
Decided to go into Schneider to ease my family into me being a trucker on the road for periods of time.
I am a techie so e-logs sound like perfect fit.
What I was wondering from you guys who are already on and driving is, how was the training period for you? How tough was orientation and the testing? What did you all eat while on the road with the trainer driver? I am trying to not become (or stay) a fat ####### on the road so I'm just curious on how you adjusted to the lifestyle. -

I'm curious about that also, I'm a little apprehensive about the whole share a cab thing with a perfect stranger, I've always been a solo kind of guy so that will be a hard adjustment for me...don't get me wrong I'm a good team player but I enjoy my me time, and my privacy..
I will be calling SNI today, I was told by the recruiter to give her a call this week sometime, she was doing all my back ground ck and stuff last week.
From what I'm seeing looks like SNI might be where I want to end up, I have my pre-hires from Werner and Swift...
a good question I have for you SNI guys is the benefits. My question is do I need to take them? My wife works for the state of Utah and we have excellent Health and dental, vision, life ins, etc. So theres no reason for me to pay for something I don't need. I heard that at swift you have to take the benefits, you can buy down but still have to have some kind of coverage. Also found out that Swift doesn't do any kind of Company match on their 401Ks I have a friend that drives for them (10yrs now) and he doesn't do their retirement for that reason. -
The health and other benefits are all optional, nothing manditory.

Actually with the health insurance, dental, vision, etc, it is my understanding that if you have insurance available from another source, you MUST take the other coverage. You can only have SNI insurance if you have no other insurance available. I am not sure how they check that, but I think you have to sign something along those lines along the way.

I would rather have the coverage my wife has for us then any other it cost us about $85 a month for all 6 of us and we're covered med,den, and vision. Gotta love a state job
