He did great in Birmingham just got his truck all "fixed" up this morning and he is out on his first solo run! It is hard...I miss him a lot, we have been together for 18 years and never really been apart except for a few days at a time but the kids and I are getting used to it and I know we will be fine! I can't remember his truck number...he told me but I forgot to write it down! He is in a 9400 but they told him that would only be for a little bit because they are getting more new trucks.
I hope you have a blessed day also! ...and by the way diet pepsi=yuck!! LOL! :biggrin_255:

Thats great and congrats to him for recieving his own truck with such a great company from what i've heard. My girl is gonna be in the same boat as you, I leave for orientation next week & she said its gonna be hard at first, but she'll get use to it from what she said. Goodluck to your hubby & god bless!

Where are you going to orientation at? Cincy or B-ham? One thing about Boyd is you won't have to worry about bad trainers or anything like that...my husband had 2 and they were both really great and he feels like he could call either one if he had a problem which is really nice! Tell your wife she will have good days and bad but it does get easier w/ time...I didn't feel that way at first but its been a little over a month now and its much easier than it was that first week! Good luck to both of you!! You will do great and it won't be long and you'll be getting in your own truck!:biggrin_25519:

I can stand behind that DIZ. I'm a trainer with boyd n that's what they look for. Someone to do it rite n continue to do so. I'm in contact with all my trainees. Unlike most companies n trainers, I dont do it for the extra money. I do it cause I'm tired of seeing bad things happen to good people. I do it cause u guys r fresh n I wanna c Yall make it in this industry.

Also, the spouse, it is hard at first until u get in a rut. Also, she is gonna have to understand that u mite not get home one weekend due to freight. It's the nature of the beast. It's happened a few times to me. Also, its been four, almost five, years for me n my wife still has bad times with me bein gone. But she does understand as ur wife will as well. I'm here if u need anything man. Just shoot.

Thanks man, thats good you still keep in contact with the people you train. Im sure there are alot of guys that are doin it for the extra money and not really caring if they succeed once there out of there truck. I hope I get a trainer who has the same attitude as you when it come to the training.

    Dietcokegirl:

Josh did training in Cincy starting in the Jan 3rd class, and there was a guy there from Dayton, I can't remember his name.

How are you doing with all the time with him away? I have done okay, but there are some hard days. And there is good chance he may be stranded in NYC for the weekend because the way his load deal worked out.

Anyhow I thought it may be good to connect so we have someone in the same position with being the other half of a trucker, and even better if the guys know each other.
