Hendrickson makes suspension components not axles... the three manufactureres who make axles for OTR applications are Meritor (formerly Rockwell), Eaton and Mack.
You can have 46k rears and still have a lighter suspension if the truck maker offers that option.
What rear setup for dump trailer?

Ya thats what I said. Dana Spicer also makes rearends.

Makes me feel like a sally because I haul around only 21 tons all summer...73,280lbs. You guys are hardcore.
-
they used to put that much in the 10 wheeler I used to drive lol
-
That lends itself to us all being in the same country, but every state has different bridge laws. But I'll keep my 73k and 7+mpg any day.
-
Yeah, but you can't make no money runnin' around empty all the time.
-
It can be done. What do you guys get for a load of gravel with 37 tons at 107,000 gross...?
-
That was just a joke, I haven't even pulled a dump bucket in a couple of years. We can only run 80k in TN, 88k if it's a natural product or recycling and we keep off the interstate. A buddy of mine that regularly loads 100k of scrap on his wagon gives me grief about running around empty all the time.
-
I know it was. In the summer on construction by the hour, the goal is to run empty or with the key off.
I was just curious if there's extra money to be made by being that #### heavy all the time. Guess I don't have enough hair on my sak. -
I have been wondering that myself. My guess is we are making about as much in the midwest with five axles and hauling 2/3 as much weight.
