ATF is Ameican Trans -Freight.I'm not sure about them or Cheetah but Dallas Mavis does have to get a special permit in Mo.for oversize because of their drivers hitting bridges.

I worked for GW for 4 years. Worked in several office positions including a little dispatch, leasing and safety. But for the most part I worked in billing. I loved my job. I left last year and it was a bitter separation to say the least.

I am trying very hard to let go of the anger I have for GW. I just ran across this website and started reading all the posts. So many of the things being complained about are true... but as much as I hate to defend them, some of the things being said are not true at all. Please understand and believe me when I say.... Just because you hear something in the break room from some upset contractor or from an employee of a vendor or store or from another contractor pulling for another company doesn't make it correct.

I completely understand having bad feelings toward the company and the way it is run. I am just a believer in knowing the facts before letting those feelings take over.

 

No disrespect intended but your office posistion probably paid you a decent paycheck every payday.How long would you have continued to show up if you were only getting gas money? GW agents broker and under bid each other for such cheap rates,that after they and GW get their part,fuel money is about all is left for the one doing the work THE TRUCKER.

 

I worked my butt off for the drivers. I went above and beyond what was required and never lied to them. Knowing what goes on at that company makes me very sad. I understand completely the negative feelings the Contractors have. However, not all of the office employees are to blame. There are some of us who did everything in our power for the Contractors we worked for.

What I said before was not intended to upset anyone. I personally always try to know the facts. That way I can focus my attention/aggravation toward actual issues and not waste time on something that isn't even true.

I did get paid every week, but believe it or not I wasn't there for the $. If I was I would have left long before I did and found another job. I am not saying I would have stayed working there for free, I just mean that $ was not my main motivation.

 

Most of the office folks are great outside of the OM and OCMs they are company men all the way. I know for the most part that when the guy at the window tells me it is 500 degrees outside I can take that to the bank. They have never lied to me that I can speak of. The central dispatch people now that is a COMPLETE different story.

Not calling you out or anything, but let us in on what facts people have lied about or not been 100% up front with. We an either dispute them or agree.. I know some people go over board with their stories. What is your side of the story.

 

I hope that GW treats the office employees better than they do their O/O,Drivers.We do need a paycheck everyweek to pay our bills.Look on the GW load boards today.Look at the rates,does any of GW's agents/dispatchers know how much a gal.of diesel is today?It's $3.53.4,do you know how many miles per.gal.a big truck gets? Average is 5 or 6.How in the world do they think we can run for less than $1.50 a mile to the truck?GW didn't even give a christmas card.Greed is going to be their doom.

 

We are all not unhappy drivers..most of us are good people who busted their taile off for this company all they did was stab us in the back..i just want everyone to know never ever work for greatwide in winter haven florida..they are the biggest crooks ever

 

Isn't that the one they just shut down or said they was in april?
