What driving school should I go to in Georgia?

I went to Katlaw in Austell Ga, pretty good school check it out!

 

where in georgia are you located. If you are near the augusta, or sandersville area, i would look into sandersville technical college. They have a campus in louisville. That is where i am currently enrolled.

 

I wouldn't be to picky in where you go to school. School's are there to just get you your license. Your real world training is going to come when you get with a company and go out with your trainer.

 

I just went through Katlaw and it went well. Not as expensive as others, but they got me my L's... they also made it clear that learning is NEVER finished and that REAL training comes when you get to your company's trainer and time spent OTR...

 

with tech schools you will come out alot cheaper.... im at southern cresent tech collage (started june 4) , with the hope grant cost was 875 dollars (thats all funded by Ga lottery) not bad when compare with the 3 week private schools progams out there ask for 3 to 6 thousand... and you will get alot more training at 8 weeks from tech schools ....check out the tech programs where you live... good luck with your decision.........wow just notice how old this thread is ..... perhaps my post will help others out there

 

I went to a school in Conyers called, "Georgia Driving Academy". If I remember correctly, if you pay cash, it costs 2700. If you finance, they rape you and forget about a kiss afterwards. The first week is all classroom to get your learners. The second week, is parking maneuvers. The third, is driving in the real world. The last hour of each day you spend going over the pre-trip. Keep in mind that most 3-4 week schools are teaching you just enough to pass the test. Unless you have a hard time learning, or aren't mechanically inclined, you shouldn't have a problem passing both parts of the test the first time. If you happen to fail, you go back to the school for the part that you failed. From what I say, they'd rather you repeat whatever portion of the class you're not good at rather than sending you to fail. All in all, I'd refer them to someone.

My only complaint was getting a job part. Before paying, a job was virtually promised. I knew going in that I'd have to really work to get one, so I knew they were saying whatever to get my money. After paying, little was done to help me get a job. I got my job 100% on my own. The lady that helps with the job search told me that I should only apply to class B type jobs. It felt good when I called to tell them that I had gotten hired by an OTR company.

There is a new school that is ridiculously cheap off of 285 around exit 53. I'd avoid them at all costs. Another piece of advice, the best decision I made was paying cash for my school, and not going through a company to get my license. If possible, do the same.
