kinda of old topic just stopped for dinner and break. totally stunned this joint got sold. no guns no bikes super bright inside. the food over priced and lacks portions. the plates are fancy like Apple bees. order pork chops with baked potato and Apple sauce. no bread with meal and salad would have been 4$ more. back to lee hi I go. its more inline for four whiskers then rough n tough truck drivers

Same guy owns both Lee Hi and Whites now. Or that was the story I got.

 

I dunno about the lot lizard, but they coulda taken down that sword that had "Death To All Yankees" engraved on it years ago and they would have gotten alot more of my Yankee money.

 

First time I stopped in after the make over was the last time i stopped in.
The little old lades who did the good cooking were gone.
Some guy with his underwear hanging out of his pants was working the grill.
The food was over priced tourist grade crap, just put in a Denney's to get the retirees in.
If they still had the old cooks I would gladly pay whatever price they put on the menu.
Oh and stop your gangsta wannabe play hip crap music behind the grill.

Stopped in there a few times.. Never got a chance to eat in the resturant.. So what did the plaque say?

 

I only stopped there a handful of times...never really thought it was that great..always thought it was dirty and a run down of a place..

 

First of all I would like to thank everyone for there feedback on Whites Travel Center. I wanted to take a minute and clear up a few things. The new owner of Whites in indeed a independent operator, and the same family that owns Lee Hi at the 195. We've had a lot of compliments on all the remodelling done in the past year. of course everyone wants to know "what happened to the guns?," they did infact stay with the White family. It has taken a year to complete the remodel, there was a lot of updates needed. We have done a lot to try to improve the place, and make it as nice as possible for the drivers. Much of the previous staff is still employed at whites, many of the "little old ladies" can still be found behind counters and in the restaurant on a daily basis. as far as the grill cook listening to rap music, that is unacceptable. We have xm radio, which is tuned to either oldies or country. I assure you this will be addressed. For everyone else I hope you stop by and check out the place. I hope you continue to use this forum to express your thoughts, as I check it regularly for feedback. We want to listen to our customers and continue to get better.
