they charged me $75 and did it in 3weeks of $25 or you can op for the whole amount at once. as far as your truck issues i'm not shocked i'm on truck number 4. 1st truck i lost when i tore my rotator cuff but it was dying anyway now it's parked in ellenwood, ga with a blown engine from whomever got it after i got hurt truck number 2 transmission went and they refuse to fix it so i was bused back to g-rapids and then truck number 3 engine blow up 6hours after i was assigned to it....currrently truck 4 is some what ok but has 900,000 miles on it. i recently asked jon for a brand new truck he said to give him a call on wed. hopefully he says yes and i get one of the new volvo's thier expecting some of them in over the weeekend and next week.

seems like a common theme, one of my trks engines blew w/ this company also, although it was a few yrs ago...my current trk is a complete POS,also 700k'ish. someone was telling me a story awhile back that one of the trks came out of shop from having a PM and the driver was headed to pu a trlr and he didnt get 500 ft out onto clay ave and engine blew, the story goes that the mechanic was canned.
theyre terrible at maintenance, unless youre magically at a terminal and you dont mind waiting a day. OTR or not, non routine stuff will not get fixed AT ALL.
for instance they have never for me approved a tire being fixed while out on the road(except for a super single, they did authorize that),they insist that you bring it to a ta or petro, even though as a driver youre risking your driving record and a fine by doing it.
i didnt know the company had a facebook page. i do agree though, they ARE talking it up big about safety and maintenance etc,i havent seen it yet.
how about an APU??? im glad i have an ezpass, i need an apu..heat,air conditioning and electricity... -
What"s it like working for Super Service? What's the starting CPM? What are the service area and or lanes of travel? What is the equipment like?
-
What is the average miles per trip? What can one expect to make for gross miles for a week?
-
CPM varies, depending on OTR or a specific account and furthermore by experience. youd have to talk to a recruiter. last i heard the highest the scale goes is 42 CPM,and thats not me..i dont know.
i can tell you that it isnt on the high end...id say its easily below average as far as pay. but you could DEFINITELY do worse.
personally i avg near 800 net, across the entire year hometime included.. but id say thats easily above avg as far as this companies drivers. i have more than a few yrs here.
usually over 900 on weeks out, sometimes i get a week w/ pay as high as 1200'ish every few mnths and as low as 500'ish if i take 3-4'ish days off.
as far as "lanes", they do alot of time sensitive freight, near GR they have finishmaster, AMWAY is a huge account w/ more than a few dedicated positions, they have doitbest out of montgomery,ny and also in the southeast although i forget what city. they also do ups freight, otr and dedicated out of chicago, louisville, boston, philly, baltimore and more..
freight will also vary depending on where you hire-in,the florida operation is temp controlled and the somerset,ky has seperate freight also including an automotive account that i dont know much about.
what YOU get will be determined by you and which manager you end up with and how you run.
youll see alot of east coast freight, alot of PA..and if you dont say that you wont do it,they will send you to NY...but you can say you wont do ny.The Challenger and yukon2001 Thank this. -
avg miles per trip? id have to say around 450??? if there isnt something wrong on your end,you should easily be able to get 2500'ish miles per week avg. on a bad week, 2k.
i dont hear miles as one of the complaints from drivers,or rarely at least. i have no complaints, except for the times when i was compelled to do too many miles.
each drivers situation is different, depending on what dispatcher you have and your relationship with them.yukon2001 Thanks this. -
Is the new ownership trying to change the company as a whole? Do you have the ability to get 3000 miles a week? Do they use E-LOGS? DO you have the option of what divison you want to drive for? What is the GR terminal like? Can ylou run as hard as want?
-
mypersonal answer is yes---somewhat after being called into speak with the company VP for ranting on facebook she said and promised and said some good things.
but actions speak louder than words. someone asked about the equipment/trucks, if you hire on with this company you will be assigned either a freightliner columbia or kenworth t600 or t2000 and either truck is dated between 2005 and 2006 and i promise it will probably be the worst P.O.S truck you ever driven, cheap uncomfortable mattress or engine problems.....maybe not on day one but soon after you get it. company RARELY fixes anything on the road. if the truck will run no matter how slow except under 40mph you will be limped back to a yard either grand rapids, ellenwood, ga or somerset, ky...i can tell you thatstrue because i have been forced to do it.yukon2001 Thanks this. -
I haven't had that experience, they have fixed everything that has broken on the road. We just had a TA replace a clutch brake and we weren't that far from Somerset. It does really depend on your relationship with your dispatcher, but I would suggest you get the grand rapids division I have heard rumors Somerset is about to get the ax. Just rumors but apparently a lot of Somerset trucks keep dinging the CAS score.
They do have E-Logs, but you are very unlikely to get them unless you get a new truck. You cannot 'run as hard as you want' they are fairly anal on logs, they will check your logs against the QC positioning. With CSA you need to run legal. Not how you want.yukon2001 Thanks this. -
i've heard that to, that somerset, ky is in hot water. alot of complaints over dispatch and the truck maintenance is coming in from somerset drivers.
the e-logs question came up in a safety meeting i was at g-rapids this past Wednesday. the girl giving the meeting mention that they are considering adding the e-logs to the older trucks. but nothing is official. plus the e-logs are still in testing drivers in the new trucks are still running paper logs.
