Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I have done that 2 times in the past. Unfortunately the way CSA is set up it would go against your personal score so I would not recommend that anymore.scottied67 Thanks this.

Thats the problem with the CSA, the company refuses to fix trucks so you point it out to dot and you get points for driving the truck thats not fixed go figure. If the government really wanted CSA to work they would go after the companies harder than the drivers, i mean right now anyone is lucky to have a job of any kind in this economy and now CSA threatens job of many many drivers across the usa this really sucks.

As an example of what i just posted i worked for a concrete company driving a mixer truck and the company would not fix trucks because the guy over the shop got a bonus every quarter if he didnt spend any money on truck or equipment repairs, well one day 5 of us got caught at a scale and dot checked all 5 trucks and they were shut down and sat there until the company service truck arrived and fixed all 5 trucks. dot guy looked at the inspection sheets and found that no repairs were ever made on things written up on the trucks so the drivers didnt get any tickets however the company got into it deep with dot for a while but now if that that same thing happened the drivers would still get points for that kind of thing and it stinks.

We all know that CSA is here.
Those points handed out can affect YOUR job, both the one you have which will be the one you lose because BFI doesn't want those points of yours and then effects you getting new work until those points come off that CSA record.
What to do to keep from getting points?
DO A REAL PTI!
Fill out your daily inspection reports completely.
If a DOT disqualifying problem is found notify your company by that secure Qualcomm or Peoplenet system. It's in QC's servers and can't be deleted by your company so there is a record both of you reporting an exhaust leak or bad brake or cracked windshield or whatever it is! Then the companies stupid reply of "run with it we'll fix it if you ever get to the shop", your arse is almost covered!
If by phone turn on the record mode TELL THE MORON on the other end you are recording so that the DOT hears their reply or orders to you and maybe they'll hang up so you while under that money making load will sit until someone at BFI grows a pair and tells you to head to the nearest shop for repairs!
That Daily Inspection sheet comes in pairs one to the shop the other stays in the truck then for some odd reason the one on your daily log will cover your arse too!
REFUSE TO DRIVE A POS TRUCK! Are they sitting in the passenger seat holding a gun to your head? are you really that needful of a job you'll work for morons like this?
What are they going to do? Fire you for following DOT/FMCSA rules?
Can you say law suit? maybe 6 zeros following some off the wall number?
Can you see a DOT audit of that companies maintainance records just to start?
One thing a lot of drivers do not know as they just glance at a DOT inspection sheet is there is a little box in front of the words "Walkup voluntary inspection" or "drive up inspection" which is telling your company that you requested an inspection and can and will bring a lot of grief down on a driver and in some cases maybe even get him fired. I feel that this line should be removed from the report so that drivers will not feel threatened for needing to get a truck inspected and put OOS because that moron BFI company would not do what is right by repairing a needed part on their equipment! I've written the FMCSA and never gotten a response! If more people would write them and your congress critter explaining that for drivers to keep their jobs and stay off the unemployment ranks, that one line needs to be removed from inspection reports so that we the drivers who are the people in these dangerous vehicles on the road can force dangerous companies into obeying the rules as set down by the FMCSA and repair that truck that just might be the one that kills his family or friends!
One way you can get inspected and forgo having that line box checked is to do one of several things.
1) drive to fast over the scales
2) hit your brakes too hard on the scales
3) flip off the DOT officer
4) drive across the scales naked with bright red lipstick and a red snake feather boa moo moo around your neck
5) blow a DOT officer a kiss
6) point your finger at the guys behind the glass and pull the trigger of your finger gun
7) have written in the bunk window in lipstick "help me I'm being held prisoner by a crazy man"
10 ) miss a gear on the scales and choke out the engine and can't make it start by turning the key on and off
9) slide the tandems all the way back or forward making the truck over on an axle
10) stop on the scales and stare at the DOT officers while blowing through you lips and wagging you fingers over you lips going bluuuuuuupppppp! Going cross eyed will help the effect.
That should get you some attention and an inspection!
Remember make CSA work for you not against you!Injun and scottied67 Thank this. -
Rollover, you have some very creative and colorful ways to garner the attention of the diesel bears. However, I believe you are forgetting an important detail: anything found wrong with that truck and/or trailer gets written to the driver's name and points assessed against that driver for a period of three years. It behooves a driver to avoid the focused attention of a bear regardless of the "BFI" status of the company.

I just talked to fmcsa just the other day about this very subject, if a driver asks dot for an inspection to point out things wrong with the truck thats been written up and never fixed the points go against the truck not the driver which means the company that owns the truck gets the points also if dot inspects a truck and finds things wrong thats been written up by the driver and the company wont fix same thing points against the truck not the driver so thats a good thing anyway thats what they told me on the phone. however to stop the hours of service change you need to go to the fmcsa websight and leave your comments on that.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
YOU volunteer for an inspection.
YOU get put OOS!
YOU pay the fine!
YOU take the points on YOUR record!!!
YOU get fired!
YOU can't get another job because the company and DOT trash your work history, driver's record and DAC report!!!
Did I make my point???scottied67 Thanks this. -
Curious how the company identified you Ronin, I take it's just a user name?
Sorry if I missed it ...Last edited: Feb 21, 2011
