LOL, as a total newbie my vote would have to based entirely on hearsay rather than personal knowledge...

The only one I have personal experience with is Cypress, and my experience right out of CDL school there was horrible. To be fair, experienced flatbedders who moved to Cypress were treated very well. Students were all too often set up to fail because they value cheap temporary labor more than drivers who will stay.

So I vote Cypress "worst of all."

I have never had the pleasure of working for any of those....(cough)....companies. I have heard the tales, and seen the guard rails.

I chose other.

 

My vote goes to Crete, hands down, I was a new driver and had an unfortunate alleged accident where I never hit the alleged vehicle. Photos prove it! But Crete would not listen and put on DAC as preventable. Then accident dept. called one day and I was alleged to have taken out a dock at a customer. I was then discharged for too many safety points, they stated that they were giving me 5 points for not reporting an accident (never had an accident) and 5 points for a preventable. WOW! 10 points for an alleged accident. After being discharged and told by VP of Safety that I would be happier at a smaller company, 2 months later the accident review board at Crete, cleared me of the alleged accident I got fired over. Now with 2 accidents on my driving record, I cannot even get a job with any trucking company. Crete SUCKS! IF YOU ARE A NEW DRIVER, DON'T WORK WITH CRETE, THEY ARE NOT TREATING A NEW DRIVER WITH BASIC RESPECT!

Thank you so much for you kind words! Truckers are the best! I live in West Tennessee, IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF A TRUCKING COMPANY IN MY AREA OR ANYWHERE THAT WILL GIVE A NEW DRIVER A CHANCE WITH 2 INCIDENTS ON DAC, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Short Stack, have you taken your documentation and gotten in touch with USIS? I think that is the company that does the DAC reports. USIS in another credit bureau-type company and it is a pain in the butt, lotsa time, lotsa paperwork, but if these accidents are not your fault and you can back this up with photos and documentation, you should go for it. A statement from the municipality saying there was no accident and any paperwork you got from Crete after the review board should help? If this is holding you back from being able to get a driving job, maybe a lawyer or legal aid could help. I hope you are able to resolve this in a positive way - Good Luck

Thanks for your input! I have contacted and challenged USIS with two (2) letters, including pics of alleged accident showing that I did not hit vehicle, but USIS comments are that the Trucking Company is their client, and they will not get involved. They say if I want to get it off my record, that I need to contact the company. Dah, yeah right! The problem is that I never received a citation/ticket and the local policeman who filled out accident report stated to me that I did not have any damage to my unit, but his boss (Chief of Police) knows the person that I alledgedly hit and he will not let his officer do anything to testify in my behalf. Crete's Accident Review Board expressed understanding during the review with them, then a week later I got the letter from them, stating that I had hit the vehicle. Someone got to them internally, I suspect it was the VP of Safety who fired me. No, I have no idea what his problem with me is!

LKat, I have tried for 4 months to work this out in a positive way, but to no positive outcome.

I have even tried to find an attorney, but they don't seem to think that I have a case, just have not found the right attorney.

DO YOU OR ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS KNOW OF A GOOD ATTORNEY WHO COULD HELP ME? I have minimal money to pay an attorney, but I wish they had just discriminated against me in a way that would be easy to prosecute them.

Now I'm starting to wonder a little bit about Crete. Maybe they aren't so good after all, at least not of late. Good luck at finding a new job.

Thanks for your comments! As it stands right now, unless I get the 2 incidents off DAC, which Crete will not remove, I will never drive again. All efforts to get them removed have been unsuccessful with USIS, they told me that their client "CRETE" is the only one that can remove them, they will not even look at the pics I sent them, boy was that a waste of time.

Do you or any of your friends know of a good truck driver attorney who can help me go after Crete? I have already contacted about 10 attorneys in the Nebraska area and nobody will even consider going after them, they are all part of the good ole boys club there. I have contacted at least 10-15 other attorneys across the US, with the same result!

I will keep trying until either I die or someone will help me!
