It will be a week tomorrow. I called today and they said it could be another week. Find it kind of different that they hire drivers and don't have trucks for them. Oh well. Have heard alot of good things about them, so it should be worth the wait.

Xitman, thank you so much for using me as a referral. I am forever grateful.

After taking a few days off I am back out on the road. The nice thing about getting out this time is that I did not have to wait an extra day for a load. One of the disadvantages of living in Florida is that sometimes freight can be slow. On a few occasions I would call to get a load only to be told to call back in the morning. I don't think it has anything to do with the company (they really like turning wheels) it is just the nature of freight out of Florida.

I picked up in Leesburg and make my delivery Monday morning in Greencastle, PA. Since I am way ahead of the load I took it easy yesterday and stopped at the Brintles travel center which is in Mt. Airy, NC. Laundry is cheap. $1.00 per load and $.50 for the dryer. It has a good size lot and there were not many trucks.

Earlier in my trip I did something dumb but I did not realize it until today. The state of Virginia was kind enough to call me into the scale house to call attention to what I did. When I went in the office I was told I was overweight on my tandems by 1400 pounds. This came as a total shock to me because I scaled the truck and adjusted my tandems before rolling.

When I first scaled the truck I was at 34.2k on my tandems. For some unknown reason I slid my tandems forward instead of backward. I told the DOT officer what I did. Laughing, he told me to just slide my tandems and go back on the scale. I went back out to the truck, slid my tandems, and received a green light on the scale. I am thankful that did not cost me any money. The next time I slide my tandems I will ensure it is in the right direction. :biggrin_2554:

Here I sit in Greencastle, PA waiting for my delivery in the morning. My appointment is not until 0900 but I am going to call ahead and see if they can take me early.

I agree. It is always more concerning to see a carrier with so many empty trucks. Talked to a couple of Heyl drivers this weekend. Only good things to say about the company. Looking forward to working with them.
