Awhile back, I made some inquiries at several Flying J's about what will happen with the employees at the Country Market restuarant when it goes to being a Denny's (when Pilot takes over) and I was told that the employees will be offered jobs at the Dennys.
I later found, which pissed me off, this was not the case. Hardly any Country Market employees were kept on when Denny's arrived at any location. With some rare exceptions, the Country Market staff I dealt with very nice, efficient and should have kept their jobs.
I ... WAS ... fiercely loyal to Country Market restuarants.
Any Truckstop Employees post here?

Flying J had the "Country Market" brand of restuarants before the merger with Pilot. Yes, some of them did not convert for various reasons. Glad to hear that some retained the buffet option.Last edited: Feb 16, 2011

You have no idea of the headaches involved when a driver takes a truck into a bad area where he cant get out or will get a ticket. Low bridges etc can cause problems. He is double-checking because most non-truckers dont give these problems a thought when they give directions...
HFC Thanks this. -

For those drivers wanting more fresh fruit and salads, one can only hope Sheetz & Wawa get into the Truckstop buisness.
I was suprized to find a Sheetz as far down 81 as Wythville VA. But for the most part it's a PA thing. -
Yeah, the Sheets and Wawa's would be a nice alternative. -

There are about 5 Wawa's in PA and MD with truck "parking" I don't think you can overnight in them though. Most are on local roads though.
Fogelsville, Rt 100 near Allentown there's a semi lot in the back always packed though.
Reading off of Rt 12 big lot behind the store, no overnight though.
Intersection of Rt 10 & 30 there's one where a lot of trucks stop to get lunch but really isn't legal
There was one in Lancaster on 30 but I went though a few months ago and I think it changed hands.
I know I saw one on Rt 1 near Havre de Grace, they have 3 spots along side big enough for trucks.
None of these are really truck stops, per se, but it does seem like they have spaces marked out for semi-trucks. so give them the buisness.
Hope this helps.
