Welcome Lance, Got your CDL in `07, and now just started driving part-time? A small company will by-pass your refresher course. And, yes this will count, as time behind the wheel. But, one screw-up and you get fired. You`ll want your salesman job back. Keep doing what your doing, stay safe, no tickets, no accidents and you`ll do great. Look forward to hearing your post. The company I currently work for is very small. They only have one truck and they are not a trucking company. They manufacture a product and decided to buy there own truck to deliver there product to there customers so that both parties save money. No they are not my family. A lot of small, self insured businesses are like that, they will just bring you on and pay the insurance and never look back. In my case, it is a good thing
I did take a refresher class tho and these people never even asked me. I didn't tell you all that I was over the road for a month with a flatbed company. Thats probably whey I got hired where I am now.
