I'm onlyge 41 now, retire with 30 years out here in Oregon at 50. Want to hit the road and do what wanted to as a young boy.............2021's the time for that. For now alot of strategizing on how to make it all happen. Where to live, who to drive with and such. Buy a place, and leave her at home etc..... Decisions on how to accomplish a change in career then.

I've posted little here, but Powell, Wy is the new destination then......just chattted with a W/S recruiter in Missoula. Said they'd prolly' hire for billings termional from there, just more time for me with any back and forth.

haha you only have to be 12 to join...I know I posted about it somewhere on here....maybe in my thread lol I donno.

The Auxilary has been around since 1942, They origionally where used for finding and destroying German U Boats durning the War, Since they flew and still do today small single engine aircraft (cessnas) they could fly low and slow and drop bombs on them. This was here in US waters.

Today we are no longer used for war.

They have only a few duties these days.

#1 Search and Rescue: In the US if/when a plane goes down the USAF Aux. are the ONLY people that know you crashed and are the ONLY ones that are going to come and find/save you. Beleive it or not the State Police/ Local Police/ Nation Guard Want nothing to do with this...

#2 Distaster Releife: For hurricane Katrina we sent 1000's of USAF Aux. Memebers down to help

#3 DDR (Drug Demand Reduction) We fly Cessnas over the US useing VERY cool camera systems that can tell the differance bewteen a maple tree and a oak tree from 1000's of feet up while doing 150+ mph, so our goal is to fly over say...corn feilds and we'd find acres of Weed feild hidden amungst the corn or out in the forest. It can pick out stuff like that. It can also pickup out of place things like a shoe Example: AZ highway patrol finds a abandoms pickup on the side of the road matching the description of the vehical last seen with a missing child, we can comb the destert looking for them, if they drop a peice of trash the computer can reconize that its out of place.

#4 Missing Persons (see example above) and heres another one. a few years ago a "special" kid turned 16 in VT and wanted to get his license..his parents said no because he was special, so he ran away....we got called out and 12 hours later we found him hanging from a tree 10 miles out in the middle of the woods.

    #5 aerospace Education

    #6 Cadet Activities

oh its ok, i'm used to it. I've had to explain it 1000's of times to people that didnt beleive me.

Some people think its stupid and that my Grade and Rank mean nothing to anyone but me...but when I went to OS (officer School) when I was promoted to 2nd LT I had I sheet you not, Marines, Navy guys, Air Force, Army Guys ages 18-OLD and GRAY saluting me.....WHY because just like an army guy cant tell you the grade of a navy guy because there insigia is differant. Not very many people new what my grade was BUT there sure as H3LL new what my shoulder boards meant! They new I was an officer and didnt think twice to salute even thought I barly looked 14 at the time....

Even when I got out It still felt cool to have someone call me sir and when I walk into a room everyone jumps to attention lol
