Kate may be a commoner, but I'll bet somewhere back in her ancestry there is nobility. There are a lot of people that are descendants of nobility that was displaced by other nobility or kings/queens over the centuries.
I'd like to see William take the throne instead of Charles. Charles makes my skin crawl.
STOP ! I am the only delusional person around here !

I love it when "insulted" people practically fall over themselves in a rush to prove the "insulter" right. That's just good entertainment.

I think that Charles means well, he's just a bit strange to the American and British public.
I also think that the Queen will not hand over the reins to William and Kate for political reasons. It will go through Charles BUT Charles will have a quick reign. He and his mother sense that the public wants to go ape s *** when William and Kate are still young to take over the throne.
This is the fifty-ninth year on the throne for Queen Elizabeth.
Queen Victoria was on the throne for sixty-four years. I have a hunch that the Queen wants to give British a reason to forget about voting the monarchy out of existence by having William and Kate on the throne. My guess is that once the wedding is over the wheels will start turning to have her hand over the reins to Charles and with the "suggestion" that he soon turn it over to William and Kate.
Then the United Kingdom will PAR-TAY ! as will some non-subjects of the throne.

Elizabeth abdicate? Bwahahaha!! Not until the old bag is dead, and maybe not even then! Charles will then hold the throne for as long as possible, and even attempt to have Camilla crowned queen. Watch the fireworks on that one, since there are quite a few in Merry Ol' England who don't like Camillaone little bit.
As far as Diana's lineage, she was a Baker. The Baker line goes all the way back to John through a daughter, and thence up through Henry II and William the Conqueror. Given that Diana isa descendent of the famed Plantagenet line, and Elizabeth is also a distant descendent of the Plantagenets, I believe that William II's reign may very well be very...interesting. He doesn't have his great, great to the nth degree grandfather's legendarily explosive temper, but the lad is smart, cunning, and ruthless inhis own way. Hope he takes the throne while I'm still breathing, cause the history of it is enough to make my head spin... -
####! I didnt get my invite yet.
