Given the debt level in the trillions, this may be very tempting. Did Obama not want to look again at the NAFTA agreement, back there a while ago? And does not the American congress now have more Republicans than Democrats? Something that brings in 112 billion a year, without having to raise taxes on the American people would seem very very tempting to institute.
Query? US surcharge per Cdn load? $500

Big problem is that countries have tried the isolationist thing in the past and every one failed dearly. If the US was to say no imported goods. Does anyone really believe that the countries that have now been dissed by an ally will want to import that countries goods? It would become a nothing in, nothing out situation while the former ally countries would begin trade with new partners and continue on.
Obama and his regime need to get their heads out of their a s s e s and get a clue. No one likes the shift everything to Asia for manufacturing and support. The companies that send all this overseas need to be the ones penalized not allies. -
One would think Harper would say ok do this and we put a stop to the tar sands oil and water you in the US consume. Once we Americans cant have our bottled water and drive our SUV's we would be rioting like Egypt
