:biggrin_2559:stevens does not care if you are a good driver or not.they want you to quit so they can bring in a new guy and get that federal government money(corporate welfare). alot of guys that have been here a while are so broke, they live on there trucks. they have home towns, but no home, car, nothing. now they can not afford to quit.they can be indentured slaves or homeless in the winter. last month i ran 11,000 miles.now i am trying to get home for a wedding. they have me where they want me.i am sitting 1,000 miles from home. they want to send me another 1,000 miles from home even though i have been on the road for 8 weeks straight and need to get home for a wedding, that i told them about 6 weeks ago.what choice do i make. quit or volunteer for slavery.......this is an evil company. if you are new stay away from stevens transport. if you are on the job contact al sharpton, jesse jackson...tom cruise, because civil rights are being abused here.

Thats quite a stretch with civil rights
no one holds a gun to your head and says start it.
No one forces you to continue your employment their if your good you can find another job in less then a day scheduling orientation the next week.
8 weeks is insane mty the vehicle to where you got it advance out as much as possible before you get their.
If you wanna piss them off abide by the hos to the minute and force their hand:biggrin_25515:

Call 'em, say you have the flu, and hop a bus to the wedding. Do the wedding, hop back on the bus, go back to the rig, and then call them and say "I'm ready".

I agree with Mr. Bum. You should figure out some way to piss them off. His idea is a good one. Above all else, don't be Mr. Nice Guy. Being their Rastus whipping boy won't get you more than the whip treatment.

Quit being nice to these people. That's why you've been on the road for two months straight. You don't know how to raise your voice.

In the real world, being "nice" gets you nowhere with an employer in the end, especially if your employer is a trucking company. It'll get you the shaft treatment and that's about it.

And yes, they do want to replace you with a green driver so they can play the turnover racket a little more.

Howdy neighbor. I'm from colo spgs also. I know 5 others from here who also work for Stevens - as do I. As best I can tell, Stevens does want us to quit. They don't seem to have enough loads for us anymore. Teams seem to be averaging about 2500-3000 a week and solos about 1700-2000 a week. Add to this the fact that every other person on their yard in Dallas treats drivers like crap and they should have no problem obtaining the attrition they need. Good luck friend, and get them behind you first chance you get!

Maybe these bigger outfits see the writing on the wall and are milking the system as much as they can while they still can.

If Hillary wins, the sugar titty may suddenly run dry. Maybe she'll go one step farther and investigate the trucking industry's abuse of government training grants.

Thanks for the heads-up on a POS company.

Sounds like they're pulling the DACcident trick.

You will try to contest this DACcident, right? Stevens is trying to screw your DAC so you have no options if you decide to leave them. This is common in trucking, believe it or not. If they bust your DAC for this, you look less attractive to a competitor and are less likely to fly the coop, as you will have fewer choices available to you in the land of the free. And if you DO quit 'em, you won't be able to get a job at a better company, so you may very well have to come crawling back to Stevens. Such is DAC.
