    Can anyone tell me were those $2.50-$3.00 rates are??
    Also been trying to go direct all day! Tellem i got one truck and its no can do!
    Yeah! I no a couple areas that have those rates but good luck getting there off a loadboard!
    Shouldve sat another month!
    Texas-louisianna rates are in the toilet ....

    :smt021It is all supply and demand. Too many trucks for the available freight, and the rates go down.That is where we are now, in general.:banghead: To get the high dollar stuff, you have to do something different than the others, go places no one else wants to go, in general provide a service that is not plentiful.
    That's trucking.

    You gotta haul freight for the oil and gas industries to get rates like that.You say Texas, La rates are in the toilet, that's where the rates are for high dollar freight hauling for companies providing services for the oil and gas industries.

    yeah supply and demand ! i pull flatbed ! and i definitely don't want "go places no one else wants to go" . thats were the supply and demand part comes in.
    I no where to go getting there is the problem !
    i think the only way to compete is for o/ops to band together under 1 name not necessarily 1 authority and go directly to shippers for freight .
