Given the choice between Swift and USA...well... I'm just going to let you figure that out.
I will say, go with your gut on this. Whether you choose Swift or USA...basically, all companies have their own flavor of BS. What's your favorite?
Look at their equipment, pay, terminals....and who cares if it's boring as long as you get that CDL? (BTW: it's not $7K at Swift. It's $3,900 and if you work for 13 months, you don't owe anything further.)
On second thought, if your biggest concern is boredom....go with USA. Swift already has enough excitement without adding a thrill-seeker to the mix.

Plus remember a local community college is always an option and worth the price of your freedom. If there was no other way I would have signed into the whole company school too but luckily my husband taught me most of it and with his 20 plus years experience he too said NO WAY to being stuck with a company for the schooling.

Choose a independent school, and if you ever choose to be a O/O never lease. You will be binded to that company like a slave.

Ssssssssssssswwwwwwwwwwwwwwiiiffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttt

Yep, go with swift! As someone mentioned.. Where you work is what you make of it anyway and as also stated, every company has their own issues! I must say though, Go to an outside school.. DO NOT go to swift academy or any other company school as you will be trapped in being with them until your loan is paid off.. At least if you don't like the company you can leave and go elsewhere.. but debt these days into one place with unknown consequence is hard to deal with. It all depends though on how well you deal with hurdles..

Your GI bill will pay for this also. I found a school that gave a huge discount to any vet.

Going to a independent school isn't much better. You can expect to pay 18-30% interest in financing and the training is the same. 3,500 at Swift or 5,500 at Roadmaster? Take your pick.
And just because you sign a employment contract doesn't mean you're a slave. It means that if you termininate the contract early (by quitting or getting fired), the company has the right to sue you for the remainder of the training costs. -
oh yeah getting sued is so much better.. Look basically your argument is, Don't get into trucking? Either way your going to pay out, but seems to me I'd much rather have my freedom of options rather then getting "stuck" As for interest.. what doesn't have interest? Might I also add.. Swift academy is 3900 not 3500 and that doesn't include the hotel stay if your from out of town.. and YES some schools such as phoenix charge you for hotel, just not up front.. I've done my research because I was going to go to swift academy for training but after all the expenses, risks of getting sent home for nothing, and hidden fees, I'd much rather not do that..

My interest was 8 percent!

Swift didn't charge me interest. I left before the loan was paid off. Never got sued. Like anybody else who gives you a loan, they expect to be paid back. Imagine that.
