With all the post out there asking who to drive for...etc...etc... is this a good company...etc..etc.. I want to start one here for the refer side and depending on how it goes move on to flat bed, tanker, dry van. Drivers post your company here and why you drive for them...pro's/cons...

I drive for Stevens. They are straight up with me. I average just over 2800 miles per week. Loads are good. Avg load for me is over 1,000 miles. Generally speaking, they do good planning. I don't have to rush to make deliveries. Do not chain in winter. Safety trumps all other departments so you have an ally if someone wants to try and push. They run legal and by the book. Pay is reasonable. Not high, but not too low.

I drive for Earl Henderson out of Salem, IL. I'm a slip seat driver so things are a little different for me than other company drivers. To start I make a little more per mile (.415) and I only work when I want to. I've been averaging a little more than 2000 miles a week so with stops and detention and maybe a little layover I've been making 950 a week before taxes. I pretty well run full time but I'm at home on the weekends.Slip seating isn't too bad. I can be moved in or out of a truck in 10 minutes now. You get used to it.

Overall it's been a good fit for me. I live 25 miles from Salem so I can slip seat. I like being home and not killing myself to make money.
