You can find stock style replacement mics anywhere. You can also upgrade to a Turner Road King 56 or Astatic 636L. They are both good quality noise cancelling mics..
-
....just as long as you get a decent noise canceling mic and stay away from a power mic in the big truck.
-
Whatever mic you choose, watch the wiring. The Midland 4 pin was different than the Cobra/Uniden/Galaxy 4 pin that all mics are wired for when you buy them at the truck stop. IT WILL NOT WORK! Make sure you have a shop check it out if you are not able to yourself. Shouldn't charge more than $5 to rewire the mic if it has to be done, which I am 99% sure it has to be.

Look at the skythumper ST-65DX. A noice cancelling mic with a little extra power. Does not use a battery. Thats some good advice from the Flying Dutchman and I agree 100%

All the Mic's listed are decent noise canceling Mic's...But there is one better built, and less money than the RK 56....I have two of these, and will not use anything else...
Look for the Ranger SRA 198 Noise Canceling Mic...You probably wont find them at your local Truck Stop, but they are available at several "On-Line" shops...I know "CB Radio Plus" has them for about $39...Just be sure to tell them it's for a Midland.

I prefer Astatic ...more specifically the 636L w/the "steel" cable as opposed to the curly chord. The Road Kings 56 are nice, I've used them, but they're too basey for me & I dig the ergonomics of the 636L vs the 56.

I have 3 rk56's that are defective. Broken wires at either end and bad PTT switches.
No more 56's for me. -
When I started looking for an new mic about two month ago, I just could not fine one for the midland 13-883B, It's look like am going to cut into the wiring harness right before the pug goes the unit.
I tried looking for an adaptor but no luck.
Also is this unit any better or worse then the new one's out there. Just not looking too spend to much money on a mic to find out the midland to old.

Exact reason I quit buying Road Kings...Usually the wires would break at the plug going into the radio...Quality of Road King has done nothing but go down hill ever since Barjin took over the Company...Same go's for Wilson Antennas IMO...Barjin can screw-up a wet dream....
