wow...that driver had been with that company alone..for 32 years...very sad..prayers for family and friends....
-
OMG that is horrible...
-
there's another thread about this....it turns out the company he worked for had quite a few DOT interventions.......also this driver has had his license suspended several times for DUI.....he just recently got it back........yes it is a horrible way to go...but there is more to this story than meets the eye
Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
well not only that but you follow the responses and everyone says it could have been avoided if the bridge was "up to spec". theres one picture where the front of the trailer is up against the wall...theres a chain link fence on the other side of this barrier....without any damages, so the cab of the truck was higher than the fence....sad way to go, i cross this bridge every other day and man its a long way to the bottom.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
I completely agree...I was on that bridge ONCE and it was a bit nerve wracking to say the least......I'm not very good with heights.....mountains don't bother me but bridges...oh man I can't get over them fast enough

But why did he slam the brakes like that... I have a feeling an idiot four wheeler was involved and happily cruised off.
bugsy siegel Thanks this. -
well they said he went across all lanes, and im pretty sure its a 6 lane bridge? i travel it so much i dont really pay much attention to it, just wanna get across the dam thing lol, he may have had something happen to him beforehand, he may have dosed off, its really tough to say what happened, it definatly didnt end very well i do know that much -
my condolences to the family and WOW just reading about scares me

I use to fear bridges, but after awhile I got to the point that I no longer think about it...this just set me back 6 years!
