ok, im new to trucking, going to go work for roehl, seem from the post on this site it might be a good place to work for, ive done my research and believe this to be true, im wondering if its just whiners and crybabies that make all the trucking companies look like the devil, they complain about the pay,the trucks, the rules, the leasing the lack of bathrooms in the trucks....ok maybey not the last one, if they are so pissed about these things than why do them, dont like the pay go somehwere else, dont like the trucks go somewhere else, dont like the leases dont lease, i mean come on, everyone and there grandpa tells you not to lease on this site yet you still do it, use your head and stop crying, i am a us army vet, ive been deployed a few time and have been serving for 8 years and when i hear the crying i just say suck it up drive on and be a man and or woman, but i wont let these people sour my view of the industry before i even start, when i get to whatever company im going to i will workl for that company as hard as i worked for all of you serving our country in the military....end of rant.....Out:biggrin_2556:

Thanks for you service first off Tabris. And yes you are right that MOST of the complaints about trucking companies comes from crybabies and whiners. Alot of the "new breed" driver don't understand the difficulties there are in driving and have been misled by recruiters not only from the companies but also the schools into thinking they will make 50-70k in their first year. They think they'll be home 2-3 nights a week and on weekends because some schmuck of a recruiter told them that.

I believe that you'll do just fine out there driver....ad again thanks fr your service!

It would seem to me that many, though not all, of the one who come here to whine and complain about co. X. Originally came to trucking from another field such as Banking or IT, or were burger flippers already.
    Many came over from construction.
They all bought the lies that the Recruiters were telling them about making X amounts of miles and Grossing 45k a year, and being home more.
Then reality hit them upside the head like a 2*4, and they just can't comprehend that they were lied to.

Ok no problem. Wait till you work 7 weeks straight, get home wife says we are a month behind on Rent. Power going to be cut off friday, Phone has been turned off. Water gave us till the 5th to pay or they are turning it off. Car was repoed yesterday and we need 5000 dollars to pay for little Timmys surgery and BTW I'm leaving you for a guy that has a local job. Just then your DM calls and says you got a load to pick up that evening, You only been home 1 night. Then tell me how you suck it up.
Yeah little Timmy was a streach but you get my point.

So it's really not your companies fault that you are broke. If you aren't turning the miles you need it's time to make a change. Everything you do needs to be a business decision. Don't hang in there just because you think it's the right thing to do, or you like the people. I could run a company and have the best intentions and treat you right, but if I can't get you paid what you need you have to leave and take care of number one.

Umm, so I forgot my point, but I think it was don't blame the company because you are broke.

Sounds to me like someone is spending all their money in advances on the cherry master machines and video games and can't figure out when payday comes why their isn't a check. Been out here 20+ years seen it done it

I know a guy who does this all the time and after 50 times he still can't get it through his head.
I say Troy when you buy 2 movies at Walmart and eat at the truck stops 3-4 times a day and giveing his girlfriend $100 (yes he is married )
You shouldn't be amazed that your check is for only $250 a week:biggrin_25521:
