It definitely was some type of rubber tired machine. I've seen some rubber tired excavators before when I worked with the county. Kinda like a truck crane except the boom wasn't telescopic. Just an excavator boom on it. Maybe it's something like that. Hard to tell for me. Almost looks like half of it is gone.

I sure don't see how it can work itself loose and raise up. Hauled a lot of excavators(track kind) and never seen that take place. lol

wow I wonder if they are gonna have to replace that whole section. Did they leave it running or something and a switch got bumped somehow

I deliver to a customer right off this exit and saw the section of bridge cut out, but had no idea what happened. Wow!
Well, theyre making good progress on the repair. Looks like theyve got the new concrete beam in place and have layed rebar for the concrete pouring. Props to them for getting this repaired asap! The southbound exit ramp is still open, but northbound is closed. This is exit 382 BTW.

Looks like a "Drott digger" Only a Case model. If it was secured properly the boom certainly could not have raised up but, I have had them raise a foot or two on me if the machine was left running on the trailer without the boom secured (I know). Crazy to think back on the stupid stunts we have pulled when moving to a new job, But it's only two miles it will be fine, Famous last words.

The load was properly secured and was mysteriously or magically unsecured during transit! Luckily it was an FDOT truck so no one is to blame or will be for this fiasco. Then the first big truck that goes over the repaired bridge section will be stopped and fined 1.5 million dollars for driving on the newly weight restricted bridge!

I wonder how big a ticket is for hitting a bridge?
