I know it's a drive for you, Dino, but I think it might do you and the warden both good to get away and I'm sure it will do wonders for Mr & Mrs SP.

When i seen southern pride,I was speachless ......The man had no clue who i was , he barley knew who his wife was.....we could tell from time to time his brain would spark by the look on his face.....but little was said, seems even tho mrs sp works at the hospital she is on them all the time..we got there at 9;30 am an he still had not been fed breakfast an the lady was cmeing around asking about lunch orders...mrs sp exsplained to me there is 60 days left on the insurance the 8 days on the medicare..an in sp's condition he will need full time assisted liveing at $7000 a mth...the doctors bills have about cleaned them out.....this is pathetic!!! these people worked all their lives to give there money to the doctors an the hospital??????? I dont know what to do here....i would love to help but this is beyond my rehlemm

Is this what we have to look forward to when we get old.....

Time to set up a fund for old truckers. Hell, every random kid gets those change jars at every register. He can have them too.
Lilbit, teddy_bear6506 and GuysLady Thank this. -
Dino
I am sure Mrs SP would know this but since right now she is the Mrs not the nurse she is busy! PLEASE have her speak to the Social worker on the unit about their finacial issues!!!!! They need to make plans NOW before they discharge SP and the sheet hits the fan!! They may qualify or SP may qualify for some type of assistance if they are wiped out!! Please it does NOT hurt for Mrs SP to ask!!!!!!! Let her know sometimes we all need a little help and she does not have to do this alone that is why there are social workers on every unit!!
Continued prayers SP and Mrs SPDiesel Dave, teddy_bear6506, American-Trucker and 9 others Thank this. -
I know when Grandma got Alzheimers, grandpa had to sell off half his current assets to qualify for medicare or whatever it was. That covered her care for the next 13 years until she passed away. If they've already burned that much, they might be able to get it now and prevent further losses. As long as he's been out running the road, he's more than earned it.
In case they don't mention it, one way to reduce assets is to sell an existing vehicle and go buy a new one. That somehow reduces your assets by the price of the new vehicle. I know it doesn't make any sense but that's what the agent guy told grandpa and it worked.
