Does anyone get lost?

I used to get lost alot, but modern technology makes it alot easier these days. My best advice is to use your cell phone, call your destination, and talk to the dock supervisor, as he/she most likely has the best directions to the place your going to. Very few secretaries, in my experience, know where they work (common problem with commuters, I've found), so asking someone who may have experience with dealing directly with drivers is your best bet.

 

ok the only thing that it costs you when you get lost is time and the companies fuel. I have never heard of drivers being charged cashy money for getting lost.

But remember this YOU are in charge of knowing EXACTLY where you are going to. Call the shipper/receiver for directions.....use tools such as gps or google earth to DOUBLE CHECK any directions you are given.

And like my trainer told me when I got lost once " no you're not you got 3/4 of a tank of fuel" you're never lost as long as you have fuel

 

just don't rely only on the GPS....they are well known for giving BAD directions....DO NOT use the version for cars....make sure you get the ones designed for semi's

 

I was in my personal vehicle once and got lost driving cross country. I stopped at a gas station and bought a map. I found where I was and how to get back on track. I lost an hour but that isn't so bad.

Nope. Generally, you get paid a set number of miles per run. There are several methods of getting the miles, but it all comes out of a computer program of some sort. A lot of it is zip code to zip code, or something similar.
