That doctor should gave me a medication for it, I feel like he thinks I'm poor and I can't afford it or something.
I'll go to the gym 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for the whole month and see what happens, I would only drink water, eat less meat, no salt, and more vegetables.

I'm not a doctor, and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but my doc wants me to call if my pressure ever hits 140!

As mentioned, 140/90 is the cutoff for BP. I know in my case my BP tends to skyrocket when I'm at a new company orientation and have to do the physical and road test because I'm so nervous, especially if I had to travel quite a ways to the new company and worrying about having a lot of things riding on this if I get hired or not. My Dr. prescribed some BP medication which has done wonders. Only down side is that I have to go #1 more frequently. One benefit is that the generic version is available at Walmart for $4 for a 30-day supply or I believe it was $8 for 90-days.

From what I heard - FWIW -
Caffeine: bad.
Orange juice, beet root juice (go to a place like Henry's, whole-foods type place): good. -
Also watch out for any medication you're taking or if you're sick. These things can cause high BP. I took a BP for school a few months ago and got a 2yr card no problem. Then I took one for work and only got a 1yr card. Just before I took the recent BP test I got really sick and took all kinds of crap. As a result my BP was all over the place. I went to the doctor 3 days later for a follow up and my BP was perfect.

Do some deep breathing exercise daily for like 10 minutes 3x a day, I will do this often just for the sense of well being it gives me. You will feel more relaxed and it is similar to yoga which puts your body at ease and lowers stress. Your numbers will fall really fast temporarily, but if you continue it is said to permanently help you. I have a machine at home and before a test I usually monitor it just to be sure, I've tested right at the limit when my weight gets higher or like a ####### one time I got drunk the night before the test lol.
If you get nervous before a test is coming do like I do and go out and do more physical work than usual the day before so you get a great nights sleep. Sleep really helps, just dont eat right before the test, anything. -
it has to be 139/89 or less. if your close they will ask you to go rest and come back. take an aspirin 1 hour before goin in . its a blood thinner and will help a tad. also try and get some exercise just before and a lite breakfast. im not a doctor but ive dealt with blood pressure d o t test all the time. you learn as you go. but bottom line you need to get that treated!!!

You could also do what I did in 07. Don't know or care about your BP and have a mild heart attack while running north on the 77. End up in the Hospital for a week and take a crap load of time off until the Dr clears you.
I also found out from the Dr that driving more then 2 hours at a time will increase your chance of a blood clot. That will also give you a heart attack.
What I know now is keep an eye on the BP and get out of the truck ever 2 hours, so you can get the blood moving. Limit the coffee to 3 cups per day and leave the soda alone.
