That is one of their green trucks... It was ordered and picked up at Peterbilt in Denton Texas about 16 months ago.. Supposedly they get 15 mpg.
-
Green? 15mpg? Know anymore?
-
Then, that means an increase of deliveries to multiple DCs by other companies. Where's the fuel savings in that? The DC live unloading and loading procedures are certainly not fuel efficient. Connecting and disconnecting involves more idling as the air compressor rebuilds pressure in the trailer airbags.
-
What !? What?? Are you even remotely implying that the decision to site a million square foot DC is tied to airbags and idle costs? -
i seen one of their green hybrid trucks on I5 a few weeks ago... the trailer was all decked out with aerodyne stuff and single tires and the works soo they may not get to 15mpg but when it comes to cutting cost would you bet against walmart???
