Yeah I know what your talking about. actually got one from back when I had to do a refresher course. I did 4 years in the USMC and I drove before that. Well all companies want exp. in the last 3 years or a refresher course so I took one and have a cert for that now. -

It also says that if the employer is the trainer, then they will provide the diploma or certificate. That seems to me that you do not need school if your employer trains you.

I have another thought about it. I would think that if you got your cdl on your own, with no school. Then went to a company that trained you beyond just getting the cdl, would that not also qualify as the required training?

I understand that. What I am asking is, where does it say that your training has to come from a formal school or large mega carrier school. By what you posted you could still get a cdl on your own, then get hired by a small company. Then they train you and give you a certificate saying you were trained. What you posted just says you need a diploma or certificate, it does not say what requirements you have to meet to get said certificate.

Requiring school..........
