In Houston tonight. 83 degrees. What a change!
Got to the J in N Houston at 1500 and it was nearly full. Got one of the last spots. Been watching trucks circling the lot for the last couple hours hoping beyond hope someone would leave.
    So far, no go.
Drop my load tomorrow morning 4 miles away.
    Glad you got home Clegg.
Wilson? Been there many times. Or maybe I should say, THROUGH there!

Mother nature has been very bipolar around here lately. We had 70 degree temps one of the first weekends in Feb., then a couple days later, the largest snowstorm on record. Sunny and 70 today!

Sitting at home reading all the posts.I got a load to Americold here in the metroplex after three days of playing in the snow in Idaho and Utah.Again having to sit to deliver this load, but thats o/k,I live in Fort Worth.Ill spend some time with the family while I wait to deliver.Nice to be out of the N/West.That storm just seemed to hang over the area for days. When we had a chance to run,me and the co-driver hightailed it out of there.Ran into the usual weather in Wyoming around Elk mountain as usual, but once we got past that,it was clear sailing to Fort Worth.Good to be in the south and warmer weather.Keep it between the lines.

Hey everyone! Been a long while since I checked in here, so I figured I would give and update. Got done with finish training just about a month ago, took whatever truck I could get to get off the yard since I was stuck there forever due to that snow and ice storm. I got an 06 T2000. No APU lol! Oh well at least I got off the yard. I took whatever i could get to get off the yard. Did Deb in dispatch a solid by delivering a local 2 drop in Temple and Waco. In return she would make sure I would get home for my first home time. She kept her promise! After that run I deadheaded up to Ft. Worth for a Kraft p/u. Took that to Denver, then she got me a load from Liberal to Deerfield Beach, Fl. Beauty thing was I didn't have to wait at the meat patch, rolled in there and the load was waiting for me. The look of sheer hate on the Stevens drivers parked in the staging area while I drove out was kinda funny. Got it there 3 days later and then deadheaded up to Bradenton, dropped the trailer and bobtailed home. Was a great 7 days home. Saw the the wife and kids, Mom and brother too! After that I got back on the road with a p/u in Bradenton (of course) and dropped that in San Antonio This morning. Then did a short run from WW Roland yard to Schertz, TX. What a cluster that was. The first 2 pallets of the load had toppled over but couldn't do anything cause it was already sealed. Notified OS&D before I hooked up to it via QC. Get the go ahead to roll with it. Told the lumper at the reciever, he said "no problem, happens all the time from Kraft in Union City. They unloaded it and on I went back to the drop yard to pick up another load of candy that goes to Edwardsville, IL. I go get that and the dang LED corner markers are gone on both sides. Figures.... the trailer just came from over the border. Grommets are gone and everything. So I have to go to Utility dealer tomorrow and get some lights and grommets. Here I sit at the Petro off 410 and 10 for my 10 hour. Will find a Utility dealer tomorrow somewhere along the way. Hope everybody is well. Drive safe!

    Matt

Funny, The Deerfield Beach, FL (close to Miami) load they tried to pull the same thing. So I sat there for a bit cause they insisted they could get a load out of there to Tampa..... yeah right. In the end I get instructions to deadhead to Bradenton drop trailer and then Bobtail to Tampa.... In total 263 miles home! :biggrin_2554:

you communicate that fact before you get there to your DM, and they will either repower the load, or get the receiver to allow you to finish your break there. Elogs or not, your drive without legal drive time, one is taking a big chance of ending your lively hood.

Setting at Mclane Longmont co tonight... last time this load took 12 hours to be finished, and no detention pay, as I did not make the first drop on time, even with me telling them I would not make the first drop on time.
This time all is good for detention pay.
