Canada border patrol has the ability to pull up everything that the FBI has the ability to pull up as it pertains to criminal activity. Canada DOES NOT distinguish between misdermears and felonies. What may be a minor offence down here may be a major offense up there. My first trip up took six days to get cleared to cross (given it was over the 4th of July weekend). Believe it or not they can track back your ENTIRE life includeing your juvenile record.
I would highly suggest your call one of their immigration offices or their embassy in Detroit before driving up there. -
When they ask if you have any guns they mean do you have any with you. Not do you have them at home. They always ask this question. Man don't give up running both countries because of something so simple.
Do you have any guns? Just say no. Do you have more then $10,000. dollars on you? Just say no. Answer the questions honestly and it will be fine. This goes for Canada and the US. -
Beer runner what questions have you been asked?
Sweaty 6 days wdf? so you stood at the border for 6 days before you went to canada? Your story doesn't quite make any sense. -
Arrived on July 1st, Canada Day, they found an arrest from 20 years earlier. Spent the rest of that day makeing calls to three court clerks in NY. They couldnt find any record of the arrest because it was so old it hadnt been computerized. Spent July 2, 3, 4, and 5th in a hotel waiting for the NY court to reopen after the holiday weekend. They found it in a file box in the basement on the 6th and faxed it up to Cananda. As soon as they sent it I was allowed to cross.
I was arrested and later cleared, but the record was never updated.HouseOfPain Thanks this. -
Because of national security I can't answer your question here. I hope you understand. But I can tell you that if you don't lie you will be fine. If all you have on your record is a bar fight then don't worry about it. Don't let drivers like Sweaty deter you form running international. If you run Canada and the US you will have more jobs open to you as well. Have your paperwork ready to go. When you load in the US put a PARS sticker on the paperwork, then have the shipper send it to the Broker. Have the Name of the Broker and the fax number with you, so you can check. Heading back to the US fill out the ACE manifest and make sure the shipper sent the paperwork to the right Broker. Wait one hour before crossing. Hope this helps. If you have more questions on how to send paperwork and such just send me a PM.blktop-bucanear and HouseOfPain Thank this.
