I was told that I need to get a class C CDL to drive the cargo van slash sprinter vans. I was just curious what kind of questions are on the CDL class C test so I know what to study for.

There isn't a test you just need to either add haz mat or passenger end to regular drivers license to upgrade to CDL C

ooo ok thans Lil_May, Some people been telling me Id have to take written test, road test, and know how to do pre trip inspections, which I could see needing to know the pre trip stuff. Sorry for asking so many dumb questions but hey thats how ya learn what ya need to do the way I see it :)

Why do a C? If you're gonna expedite, do a B. Yes, theres air brakes, and pretrip, BUT......you can drive a BIG straight truck then, and I hear those make pretty good money too.

I'm not sure, but that might just be less paperwork anyway. If I'm understanding it right, C/V's and Sprinters don't log, and don't scale, and the HOS is by carrier and not FMCSA. Personally speaking though, I'd rather the B, opens up more possibilities if expediting isn't for you.

Some of those vans require a B anyway depending on size. But if you test without airbrakes, in some states, you cannot legally drive a vehicle with them until you road test with them. This debate has been had before, it varies by state.
