My husband and I have been discussing team driving. However, I have apprehensions about leaving my home and going on the road. I have concerns/fears about the life style; living out of a truck sleeper, spending10-11 hours driving while he sleeps, meeting deadlines, not being able to eat properly and the list just seems to go on. What kind of advice or reassurance can you all give me? Thanks in advance for your help.

The best advice I can give you is don't do it if you don't want to.
I teamed with an ex-girlfriend of mine while we were dating and it was detrimental to our relationship. Spending all that time together isn't good, regardless of how long you've been together.
I'll never team again, with a guy or a gal. The only way I might consider it is if the truck had a super sleeper on it. Even then, I doubt I'd do it. It's hard to sleep while the truck's moving.

Have you spent any amount of time in the truck with him? I would think that would be your first step. Deciding if that lifestyle is for you is the first step. Then honestly evaluate your relationship and decide if you could really spend that amount of time in such close quarters with him. Some couples can and some definetely can't. It would be better to know that before your marriage was destroyed. You need to honestly answer those two questions first.

Thanks you two, I really do appreciate your input but in this case my relationship with this young man is not my problem. I've been with him for over 32 years.
What I'm looking for is some insight into how the women that team with their men cope to this lifestyle.
I would appreciate any help anyone can share.
Thanks again. -
I think you will love it.
Just let him be the boss, untill you get 2 years exp..

My wife and I team drove for 7 years together and loved it. The lifestyle is the hardest part to overcome. You can make really good money though driving together. Once we decided that it was for us we sold the house and pretty much stayed out for long periods of time. When we needed a break we would come home and stay with relatives. If you can just go out for a trip or two to see if you like it that would probably be best.
