Nick Riley at Roehl told me that I could only bring my girl if I was married to her! And only after 6 monthes of safe driving. Is there a way around this or are these rules set in stone? I was gonna go with Roehl from the begining but they said this was the rule.

try heyl--not sure if they have a training program or not---but seems like a way better company than the ones you are looking at

I would just try to get the job brother, you really can't afford to wait for that perfect company.
Most companys won't let pets on their trucks period, unless leased or OO and again do not lease just starting.

I'm sorry Nick is with Werner not Roehl! I've talked to so many recruiters over the last few months! But Roehl does seem like the best company to go with!

GETTING MARRIED will solve the problem... lol
Over the last 2 months I have read this forum searching for what I thought was the best company to start with. After many hours of reading I have decided to go with Roehl and the other post in this thread just firm up my decision.
Good luck with your search, but you might want to think about this, girl friends come and go in weeks and months, (some wives also) to keep your DAC report good, a person needs to stay with a company for awhile and not jump around.

I don't think any company is going to let you take a rider until at least after your 90 days if not 6 months. Plus you aren't allowed riders in the winter time. Kitty cats are stinky (litter box!) in a big rig. Good luck man. There are a ton of companies out there to choose from. Just take your time and do your homework.

So what I'm getting from you guys is that Roehl would be my best bet? They seem to have the least amount of complaints on the boards!

Now Inoticed that they offer a 7 on 7 off option. Now I do realize it's not gonna make a lot of money for myself and I'm not really looking at this as a real possibility. But say I was to and I needed to get my experience, does this mean it would actually take 6 months from start to get experience or a full year seeing how it's every other week? Just wondering.

You all have been a great help and although I'm still reading the boards almost not stop and all the good and bad stories on here about the companies I have still not made any decisions! And with graduation about a week away I think in the end I will end up going with Roehl! But it's not set in stone!

This is just an example: Hopefully after we get experience and the economy picks up, the miles will pick up.

With the 7/7 you will make around $17,000 the first year. Thats at 2000 miles per week (could be more or less) for 26 weeks out = 52,000 miles for the year #.33 cpm (average)= $17,160.

With the 14/7 you make around $22,500 the first year. Thats 4000 miles per 14 days out, 17 trips per year for 68,000 miles per year #.33 cpm= $22,440.
Plus any bonus we may qualify for.

    mayoman69 Thanks this.
