That used to be a Swift yard. Spent the night there myself before. Nice and quiet.

Minute: you are incorrect about the 11-hour exception. *sigh* I've been through this before.

    FMCSR 395.1(b) Adverse Driving Conditions.

(Paraphrased for conciseness) Basically says you can drive up to 13 hours, not exceeding your 14-hour window of time after a 10-hour break if you run into conditions defined in 395.2 and cannot complete the run as a direct result of those conditions.

    Okay, here we go:

    FMCSR 395.2 Definitions.
Adverse driving conditions means snow, sleet, fog, other adverse weather conditions, a highway covered in snow or ice, or unusual road or traffic conditions, none of which were apparent on the basis of information known to the person dispatching the run at the time it was begun.

In other words, your dispatcher needed to have the information at the beginning of the trip. You did not need the information at the beginning of the day. Seems pretty clear to me...

    I hate misinformation.

B-something and Bridge just north of Flint, MI.

I don't think they ever heard of a snow plow, and the employees are taking up truck parking spots. Could play a game of hockey towards the back end of the lot. Found a spot where I could park my wheels on bare pavement.

Nothing for food, but at least it looks like they have some good coffee for in the morning.

Dealjobber, are you at the 136 in Birch Run? If so, you gotta move to the old truck stop on the west side of the freeway, park behind the "gas station" part of it on the north side of the road and take your behind into Tony's, right next door, west, of that old truck stop. You are allowed to park there overnight and Tony's makes it soooooo worth it.
