    Having a "truck route" in Seattle wouldn't make much difference, since almost all of the truck traffic still has to head right downtown to the port areas... I'm sure they won't move downtown for us..

    That would probably have helped if I'd been able to get a clear photograph of any of the trucks. The way they were moving, I could not get alongside them at all, and I wasn't willing to speed to stay up with them.

    In only two cases was I very close, and in neither case did I see any DOT numbers on either the trailers or trucks. I have a trailer license plate photo that I handed over to WSP. It's not legal in this state for me to go checking someone else's driving record without following explicit rules. I felt that I'd just give that to authorities.

    I'm not sure if it's ethical for me to post the photo here. I'll review this option, but at present I view that as a bad idea. I'd want clearance from the board owners.

    Also, I don't feel a strong drive to actually identify these drivers, as many of you seem to think. Identity could be helpful, but I'm doubtful that a positive ID is even possible given that some effort was taken to present a false image in the first place.

    The state is capable of issuing temporary plates, just FYI. If this was a military and urgent haul, they may have had certain rights. I don't want to infringe on rights.

    What's more interesting to me would be aspects like, why the urgency, is this a routine or twice yearly thing, or other information that could shed a light on the practice of sending apparently "hot" runs down the freeway.

    Could the military not use helicopters? If it's a corporate thing, do they need to address safety issues? See I have imagination, but no data.

    Maybe there were a few drivers working together who all got fired. I have no idea. That's why I came here.

    When I worked driving short haul for Marden Susco in Cali, the practice of providing stimulants to drivers was revealed to me, and I revealed it to the CHP. I was immediately released from driving duties and left the company, quite happily. It was a horrible company to work for even before they began pressuring me to do such things.

    I did say I used to drive. :/

    If it makes a difference, I am also quite skilled with a D9L, Graders, and Dumps.

    This is starting to wear on me, so I'm going to take the rest of the day to tend to my other work. I'll return tomorrow.

    The military doesn't endorse crazy driving. High dollar or extremely important loads will have an escort. The driver might or might not know about it. The whole idea is to get the load there safely and in one piece. Crazy driving doesn't fit in the picture. What you saw was some fairly new drivers that are over confident. They'll have their day.

    I think it is the New World Order transporting outspoken individuals to FEMA camps in the Pacific Northwest.They generally start with Government employees that run thier mouth too much,Phase two will be nosy reporters.Tread lightly my friend,otherwise,you may end up in a FEMA camp under the Denver International Airport where you will be Reeducated or Disposed of if need be.

    There really is a FEMA camp under the Airport.Now,if you are interested in a News story,maybe you should just Google FEMA camp/Denver International Airport before the internet is taken down by the new Masters of the World.You should just go the Airport and poke around a bit,you will be shocked at what you will find.

    Okay, first off....Weasel! You have no source of information to quote regarding legislation Swift or Werner may or may not back. I can't speak for Werner at all because I have no clue what they are doing. I can, however, dispute specific issues you may bring up about Swift if you weren't so vague in the blanket allegations you have leveled. My theory is you wanted to sound cool bashing a couple of big companies, looked out your window and picked the two sitting closest to you in the truck stop. Could just as easily have been JB Hunt and Schneider. Therefore, your statement holds absolutely no water and I refuse to take it personally.

    To the O/P. This sounds more like a bunch of fly-by-nights to me. Don't read too much into it or I might feel the need to loan you my tinfoil hat. It's really great at blocking the alien thought rays, but I think I need to add a little lead to more effectively block the guv'mint mind-control waves. All joking aside, I can completely understand the skepticism shown here...considering the last reporter who asked for information was writing for the Huffington Post and looking for a sob story about some poor corporate office guy who lost his job because of that mean ol' corporation sending his job overseas...and now he's consigned to living his life as a lowly truck driver. Most of the "reporters" who have made such requests have an agenda. Therefore, you are dealt a hand of skepticism.

    You want to do a story that might help us? Research the study finished recently by WSU that "shows" the need for two periods of rest midnight to 6:00 am. The study was flawed to the point of irrelevance, yet, FMCSA is using this study to rewrite Hours of Service regulations. You can find my opinion on it here:

    Next time you see these guys acting up, get the license plate off the trailer. Unless it's a stolen license plate, it will lead you directly to your culprit.

    For the record, I am in favor of truck-only routing. California has truck routes, but they are not truck only. Reference the Grapevine (I-5 Southern California) explosion in September(?) 2008. More than 25 trucks involved.....and one car. What the &*#$ was that car doing there? I'm not sure whether they ever figured out the root cause of that mess, but I'll wager a cup of coffee a car had something to do with it. The point being, cars are not excluded from truck routes. If you can figure out a way to create "truck only" lanes and routing, ticket cars that ignore the "only" part of that clause and give us a safe way for passing through Seattle, I would be very grateful.

    Now, back to that tinfoil hat....what's your hat size?

    If i read correctly this person is not even a reporter employed by this paper but a blogger that has no real professional ties to the paper. Just saying. Bad trolls are bad.

    In your first post you say these trucks display "recent" branding and that the names don't check out anywhere on the west coast yet you can't tell us the name.

    In another post you say you can't get close enough to see the names yet you were close enough to say there were no DOT numbers on the trailers or TRUCKS.

    I'm gonna havta call BS, I truck in the Seattle Tacoma area every day and have never seen what you describe.
