Just a FYI for those of us who have medical conditions and are taking meds(especially with serious side effects)
On your Cell phone "Contacts Lists" beside every name i put in parethesis who they are in relation to me(WIFE) (DAUGHTER)(Doctor) etc..
And i have a "Contact" listed as "In case of Emergency"
Sometimes we as drivers find ourselves in the hands of fellow drivers in case we fall ill,by doing this with your contact list you can be reassured a bystander can get a hold of your family with a simple clik
I also have in my "Notes" section of my phone all of my Meds and Doctors Info

good idea, time is of the essence.

In my case the letters ICE are listed next to my wifes cell and our home numbers. I've been told that many First Responders have been taught to look for that.
-
Yes, they are taught to look for that and for medic alert things (necklace, bracelet, and stuff in your wallet)...
Pretty soon they will just scan you for an RF chip that will tell them everything... -
i have a program right on my phone with an icon on the home screen that when opened lists all my info emergency #'s, conditions , meds ,blood type, and doctors #

As a practicing paramedic, I have never looked for or in a phone for any information.
Maybe the police have the time, but we never have.
You look for medical allergy bracelets and visible medications. This is done where the patient is not responsive.I am medicineman Thanks this. -
I also wear a Medic Alert bracelet plus have a Medic Alert card in my wallet.
-
My phone has all my emergency contacts and medications. I also have my glucose meter nearby with all pertinent info inside it also.
I don't care much for wearing a bracelet and advertising day in and day out.
RM, maybe you don't have time, but usually there is more than one emergency personnel on the scene and they should recognize a cell phone as a invaluable source of emergency info. It's becoming more popular and doesn't take anything to yell at someone to check it. -
I suggest you try getting on scene with a crew and say 5 people injured and only 4 responders.
I do not have the time to worry about a phone.
We have to try and figure out the injuries and what happened. Assess the patient, get any information from them if possible.
If extrication is involved, c-spine is applied and cutting out of the vehicle. By the time we have them cut out and packaged, the ambulance has arrived and we place them in the ambulance for transport to the hospital.
We then must get the scene cleaned up and the rig ready to respond to another call.
You say there was a phone there?
Could not prove it to me.
Sorry, I have more important things to worry about.I am medicineman Thanks this. -
I wear a "thumb drive" on a lanyard around my neck.
It is clearly marked "EMERGENCY MEDICAL INFORMATION".
Just plug into computer and read.
On it are "files" in WORD and DOC named appropriately.
Lists ALL my information, allergies, medical history, and contact information in case i can't speak.
A proper "patent assessment" will find this drive if I am out of it.
Recently, I added folders with my resume and a couple photos of me for ID.
