Sorry for my poor grammar I didn't realize it would upset you so. I do not care if you beileive me or not that's your choice to make. I can assure you you I embellished nothing in my former post. Just simply responded to an email as quickly as I could saying that there was a response to my post. Same as I'm doing now.
I'm not trying to "one up" anyone you stated that I mustn't have any career experience outside of trucking, I gave you examples. I figured next my experience in trucking would be questioned I told you what I do. As the owner- tire man, mechanic, welder, dispatcher, book keeper, payroll, and still drive a full day

I tell all drivers the exact way it is out here and what to expect, anything less would be doing them a disservice. Trucking is not about warm fuzzy hugs and cheerleading. Most people coming into the industry get a kick in the nuts because someone wasn't honest with them when the opportune time was at hand.
I never stated trucking was warm fuzzy hugs and cheerleading? I know all about the challenges that drivers and owner operators face. I started out with one truck a very young man in an industry I knew very little about. (I've had that kick in the nuts a few times) Trucking isn't an easy job / life style, but then again I can't think of many careers that are.
I didn't start this thread to get into an argument with anyone. I was simply stating that the negativity on here towards trucking seems to be very high. If trucking is so bad then don't do it.
I hope you all have a good day.

You come onto a trucking forum and use a condescending remark such as this one and expect there to be no arguments? That is naive.
You claim to understand the "lifestyle" yet really show a poor understanding of what really transpires out here.
There are drivers out here running up and down the road to pay for mortages, children and kids in college/university and at the end of the day they can look forward to a guy like you coming along and saying "just quit". Many drivers cannot simply quit or change jobs like you or others would suggest. I have said in other posts, there are huge health implications/issues that affect drivers(a drivers mental health is impacted as much if not more than their physical health) ,this isn't simply a job where you "git er done" and go home at the end of the day. I am fortunate enough to own my own truck, live a relatively healthy life on the road and have the support of my family......others aren't so fortunate. I don't see myself as better than them, never have, never will. We are exactly the same.
So I do take issue when you offer a simplistic response to a complex issue and show a complete lack of respect for your fellow driver. -
Hey guys, I'd appreciate it if you could back away from the personal attacks, please. If you can't discuss the topic politely, please move on to another thread.

Well bfs89c, you sure stirred at least one person up - which proves your point exactly. There are people out there who do not WANT to have a positive outlook. Keep up the good work.

I would agree that this forum overall has a negative outlook on the industry.
Rightly so, perhaps
but there are plenty of success stories that seem to be drowned out the majority of people which is no surprise because thats how life works, a few suceed and most take the brunt of it and voice displeasure, feed them a few grains every now and then and you'll quiet the rumblings. that is the balance of life and power
this is a great industry if you can organize other people and create work because its an industry that built modern civilization and continues to do so. the people that are leaders in the industry have the same pedigree within them to lead any other aspects of life, go get yours
i work for a consulting company which caters to transportation and let me tell you one stat we monitor every day. each month hundreds of new companies in canada register for the DOTs and MCs with the FMCSA. each month, without fail, hundreds of companies spring about. this industry has a constant heartbeat and it will never stop pumping new blood, there is plenty of opportunity
