So, now that I have graduated from a trucking school and have a CDL A, Prime (who told me I would be welcomed back) just rejected my app because they have more qualified drivers. Um, what? I'm sure as #### more qualified now than I was when I first went to orientation without a freakin permit.
A little history: I went to MO on Sept 20. Orientation was fine. I get on the road (for CDL training) with an old, grumpy man who constantly screamed and swore. After the second day of driving, he tells me I'll never make it because I was having trouble downshifting. I come back home, call Prime to ask if I could switch trainers. I get the very same guy who spoke to me in person (who told me to call if I had concerns) and within 10 seconds, he transfers me to Mr. L. I try explaining my situation, only for him to cut me off and tell me to come back in Feb.
So here we are. Now that I actually have a CDL A, I'm being denied. Let me guess, I'm not worth it now because Prime wouldn't be able to make money off my CDL training, right?
I see it for what it is. My buddy who works for them now is ready to go too. He leases and I can tell you right now, he's not making the money Prime drivers claim they can make. And before you say he ain't doing it right, remember we are talking about someone who used to own a business and has zero detrimental habbits (smoking, shopping, etc.). He's the tightest I've ever seen with money so if anyone could make a buck, it's him.
Screw Prime. I paid $4,000 cash to get a CDL A, and I'm glad they didn't see a freaking dime of it.
They're full of ####.

Any company that trains and refuses to swap out trainers for cause isn't worth a crap. Sorry you had to go through that, and best of luck to you. I wouldn't have put up with it either.
IronFreakinMaiden Thanks this. -
This is the e-mail I received when I asked why I was denied. I hope you are sitting down....
Operations entered "no" for rehire in the computer.
In addition to that, Prime requires stable verifiable work history for the last 3 years. According to your application you have only been employed for 7 out of the last 36 months. That would also be a disqualifier.
Um, what? First off, you're going to tell me applications are accepted and denied by a computer? I understand they get many applications, but when people are denied by a computer, that's just wrong.
Secondly, I was there a little over four months ago. One of the months since was spent at a freaking truck driving school.
And if I thought I was going back, why would I even try to find another job?
The other months were spent taking care of my kid and remodeling my house. Newsflash Prime: Not everyone who is unemployed sits around doing nothing. And in today's economy, unemployment is nothing new.
My theory is they never thought I would try to come back. So when I show up (not literally, of course) with a CDL in my hand, they were like "Uhhhh, durrrr."
I'm bewildered. However, I'm using this as a blessing in disguise. I do have a CDL A now, so maybe I can find a company that doesn't stuff so much BS up people's #####.lunaglow Thanks this. -
Just wait right here and the "cheer leaders" will be along to tell you what really happened as to why they wouldnt take you back!!!

Yeah, probably.

When they say operations entered no for rehire it means a person in operations...most likely the FM you had before.

Oh, you mean the same guy who said I would be welcomed back?
