WVT gets most of their drivers in a couple nights a week with weekends off. I would go with them if I had recent OTR. I have been wanting to go back out anyway. If you live antwhere near Anderson you can get home nightly as they haul a lot of scrap metal there. Good luck driver. Are you getting one of their new blue KW's?

Yeah...I don't know much about WVT except that it's run completely differently and separate from Schilli Specialized. Drivers can switch between divisions, but they're all ran differently. Still don't have anything bad to say about these people. I had a scrape a couple of weeks ago when I had some personal problems at home, and I was worried about keeping my job and their first concern was making sure I was okay. That really gained my respect. A lot of trucking companies SAY that they put the driver first, but rarely put that into action. I've been lucky to find good companies to stay with.

    Happy Trucking!

Yeah, I know what your saying. When they offered me the job I figured I would have to start that next week or week after, but I asked them if I could wait till the second week in June and they didn't even ask me why or give me any slack over it. I am real impressed with this company so far. I start the second week in June and will keep posting on my progress with the company. Thanks for all the info that every one has offered and be safe.

Well I called Wabash Valley Transportation yesterday (Thursday) just to make sure I was still starting orientation next Tuesday, I talked to one of the girls (I won't use names) she told me that they couldn't hire me. Now just a couple of weeks ago I talked to WVT and they told me all looked good and I would start the 2nd Tuesday in June. They wouldn't give me any reason on why, just said that the terminal manager said no to me working for them, she told me saftey approved me and all was good except for one guy the terminal manager. She said she didn't understand why and that he would not give any explanation or reasoning. Now if I wouldn't have called this company I would have drove all the way to remmington, Indiana for the orientation on Tuesday. Which is a good three hours from where I live, I would of been turn around and sent home with out any warning or fuel reimbursment. I thought this would be a good comany to drive for but I was wrong. I ams still looking for a job and will keep everyone posted. Thanks and be safe.

I started with Wabash Valley Transportation last month and everything has been good so far. Everyone I have any contact with have been very helpful. I am home every weekend, and would probably get home during the week, but I live to far from the terminal. I am getting good pay, good miles, and all my reimbursements. I hate sitting around, and this company keeps me moving all the time. My wife has even called payroll a couple of times with questions, and the women there have been great in explaining things so we understand their system. Hope things keep going this good! I really got burned by the last company I worked for (actually my first company) and I thought I had made a big mistake joining this profession.

Hey driver, is there anything in your past that would tip the scale? I know one of their former drivers and he speaks very highly of them. I have heard a lot of good from other drivers that I did not know and a few negs here and there. Mostly old trucks, but they went to new KW's.

No, I have a letter from them saying I am hired saftey approved me and I was told where to go for orientation. If there was something they would have found it before all of this, because it took them three weeks to get back to me and tell me I was hired after I applied with them, and on top of that; they didn't even call me to tell me I wasn't hired. I would have drove all the way up there if I hadn't called.

I am not saying they are a bad company. I am just saying what they done to me is wrong and I want to warn anybody that might be dealing with them to be aware. I did turn down several jobs because I thought I was hired.
