I should add keep ur mouth shut and just do what ya gotta do.
get fuel, park, eat, shower, ect dont hang outside chatting it up yaping about your load and where its going/ comming from.

fastest way to get that sweet trailer load of new plasma TV's,computers, ect that someone trusted you with stolen and probly shot or stabed is to let anyone know you have it.

I used to hall a lot of produce & with the weight of that stuff we never had a full trailer to the back doors and most times about 500-1000 lbs of weight and 4-6 skid spots we could still hall with 1/2 tanks, he would always try and fill that 500-1000lbs and 4 spots with flowers or electronics never fuel ( fuel donest pay your bills it just adds weight and saves you 7 min at the pump).

one week I had to do a switch with a guy cuz he couldnt run his log book well enough to get a load from A to B in 36 ( about 1400 miles or so trucks could run 68/70 mph and and 900 miles of the trip was in 70 mph the rest 65) we did the switch and I told him what was on the trailer to keep both doors locked keep his mouth shut. Wasnt even 5 min down the road when he to opened his mouth on the CB asking of the reefer temp was going to effect the laptops on the tail behind the cold wall.

The next morning the locks & skids of laptops walked off that trailer all on there own In the rest stop off Hwy 77 WV, needless to say he was fired and probly wont get a job halling anything but trash for the next few years if not life.

You could put "rings" all over you and dress like a total freak so nobody will bother you, or you could just carry yourself in a professional confident manner and you won't have anything to worry about.

Like somebody else said, I'd be more worried about what you might catch at the buffet line then getting attacked.

theres nothing to worry about out here, at least at Truck Stops, there are so many drivers there someone would have to be stupid to try anything...

I'm 21 as well, 5' 7 and 115lbs.....and I havent had a single problem out here and I've stayed in some of the sheetest areas in the country...

Just be confident, and you'll be fine.

and to address the sleeping part, get a ratchet strap, and hook it to your door handles at night that way no one can open the door even if the pop the lock......I've never even had a lot lizzard knock on my door let alone someone try to mess with me lol. and that would be the worst decision of there life, they would end up with a cracked open skull...just sayin.

Get yourself a nice Tire Thumper and come out swingin! :biggrin_2559:

The only time my truck door was ever knocked on by a lizard I was parked close to the front row.

I always prefer the back row for the walk in and out of the truckstop. Never have seen one there.

Gonna be hard to get any rest thinking about boogie men, gang rapes, muggings, lot lizards and good buddies.

I've never had any real problems aside from the occasional lot lizard or good buddy coming around. No Thanks is an appropriate response, until about the 3rd time, then EFF OFF is appropriate. Keep your doors locked, and remember safety in numbers. A truckstop is WAY safer than a dark offramp, or rest area somewhere.

You get to Ontario and want to be entertained...Park on the West side.....

You want to live life on the edge....Go to the Port of Houston and park at the Lion King TS....Be sure to have an American flag decal on your rig...Play some Garth Brooks to make some points.......

drivers have been shot, stabbed, raped, robbed, and hit on the head with tire irons, but other then that, not much to worry about.
