What happened with Heyl? Weren't you waiting on a truck with them?
-
Not sure when they are getting any empty trucks. Been talking to some Indian River drivers and i like what i am hearing about them. Looking for a honest company that will run you.
xlsdraw Thanks this. -
Unloaded in hancock,md today there were 3 other IRT trucks loading there going to waupun, wi. I figuired I was doing the same thing but not pre plan as the other days got empty called in and was told there were no loads left for today and tomm. I had to do some creative thinking yesterday anyway, so I'm on a 34hr restart in breezewood pa load sat morning in hancock going back to waupun wi.

Amy just called again I still can't make up my mind ??????????
I swore I'd never drive for under minimum .40 per mile for anyone but I love where and how you guys/gals run......decisions~decisions

Idk where you can go and be a company driver and start at .40cpm. Heartland would give you it but they don't give you the miles to make any money.
-
with all due respect bro I didn't just get out of truck driving school..
overall you seem happy with them ?? -
think I found a bulk company up here based out of the Syracuse area that starts out at like .36 and jumps up to .39 after a few months if your interested PM me..
-
Who said anything about school? Just saying that nobody offers .40cents,,, overall IRT is a good company I think I'm giving it sometime to see if I get better at it but I don't think tanker is something I'm good at but we will see.

IRT is one of the companies I've watched from afar for a long time. Everyone who works there says they get plenty of miles and are kept busy. Even people who quit don't complain about the running they do. When I was in orientation at Heartland a guy going through with me had just left IRT after 3 years I think. He didn't have any complaints except hometime. He was trying to be home more for his kids. That's probably the only thing that has kept me from hiring on with them. I want to be home more than 2 days every 3 weeks or whatever.
I think if IRT did 2 or 3 things they would be a lot better company. 1. pay driver 5-6 cents better a mile to start 2. Put APU's on all trucks and leave em set at 75, cut idle down to almost 0 and 3. get drivers home more often. If they did these things I think a lot more drivers would go to them and stay with them for the long term.
Here's one thing I've wanted for a while but have been unsuccessful thus far. Can one of you IRT drivers get me an Indian River hat? If so pm me and I'll send my address and pay for shipping or whatever. I'd really appreciate it. There aren't many IRT trucks running around here so I don't see many of your drivers.
Another thing, when i went to Heartland's orientation, I rode on the Greyhound from Knoxville-Atlanta with a guy from upstate NY who was going to work with Central I think (new driver). He had worked at an apple juice plant I think in NY and his goal was to get enough experience to hire on with IRT. He had a nice looking IRT hat on in fact. He said those guys picked up juice there all the time and got him wanting to drive a truck. I hope he made it over and is happy. This was back in December of 2008.
Thanks!
