I loved my volvo, volvo didn't rock, and it was a heavy truck. Plus it had better sound insalation so it was very very quiet while driving. My freightliner Century I drive now drives and turns like the volvo did but it sure isn't as quiet inside. I hated the Pete 387 for the same reason you didn't like the T-2 though

Been there done that. Started a company in Alaska that created and installed "Hydrogen Generators" for 4-wheelers. Worked pretty good (not 50%, more like 10-20%) until the 32 degree mark. Anything to keep the water from freezing would totally mess up the system. There is a company in Canada that installs a unit on semi's that claims 2-3mpg on most Tractors and 4-5mpg on 4-wheeler diesel's but I do not know if USA allow it. I would really like to see what it could do on a not so aerodynamic truck:biggrin_25525: LOL.

We are back on the road. The turbo went, and jess, they warrantied the turbo, but not all the damage the turbo going caused. They can't give us an amount and don't seem to understand why I have an issue with not knowing the amount. Chris had to go off on them to put them in gear. Do shops really not understand if you tell me you will have it done today when we call you before checkout, I take all my crap over to the dealer, I don't give a rats behind if you have to stay an hour or two late, you darn well better do it, or you find me a hotel. Especially since they told one guy who wanted to stay over that they were booked and weren't going to have any rooms. When we had the head replaced it was literally an hour and a half of work that made us stay there until monday instead of leaving on friday. I would go off if that happened again.

Anyway, had a great visit with my cousin. Her daughter (4 yrs old) said our truck has a big head and big feet. I laughed and said I guess it does.

    Glad to be rolling

Paccar tried to slam us with the Bill when the inter cooler leaked through the cab said it wasn't warranty, we argued and it was paid by Central or Paccar not sure which one but it took six weeks to get reimbursed for a week in a motel in SLC!

They had to pull the carpet and rubber out and leave it to dry for a few days, the design was faulty and peterbilt ended up modifying it:biggrin_2556: and yea I was furious made JJ call everyday until it was sorted!

Had a full week of running nights, and driving 12+ hours a day.
Makes for a long week. And not much chance to get online when I am that tired. Glad to be home for the weekend.

Life is good. Still have 2 more days before going back out and have all my laundry done and groceries bought and trk loaded. Saw my CPA on Fri., and he may have my taxes done by tomorrow and ready to sign. No biggie tho if not rdy, will be back 1st weekend of next month anyway. See my finacial planner tomorrow and take care of odds and ends and will be rdy to hit the road on Tue. Best of all, just bought a universal remote since my original died and it actually works. Directions almost idiot proof. :biggrin_25522:

While at the trk, there was a msg from on high, wanting to know how many drvrs have hazmat endorsement. Looks like they may be branching out.

I don't like the Volvo it has to many electrical issues. It was roomy though. The freight shakers are cheap and fall apart. Ill stick with a 379 pete if you set it up right you can get 7 to 7.5 mpg but you have to unrestrict the motor and up the horsepower. A Pittsburgh power unit works well with its multiple setting. And ill still look good delivering my freight. Jj.

7 to 7.5 really, my instructors cloumbia got to 7 mpg at best, but no mods dur to the "lease". I can't even put in an invertor unless it plugs into the 12v socket, hence the want for O/O with a contract with a big company. A couple of former student went L/O and told me that they do really good 2800 to 3200 miles a week at .92 per mile plus discounts on fuel on bonuses. I just want to spend a year learning about the actual cost of long haul (not to mention learn in a warranty covered truck). I do have a friend that knows how to and has the equipment for modifing, he just won't touch any company trucks. Been a while Jess, hows fat boy?
