I'm still trying to figure out why posters keep tellin him to get his DAC as if it's the holy grail?
He has NO trucking experence or ever had a job trucking as he's is or was a student.
Because he never held a driving job as a truck driver so he will NOT have a stupid HireRight/DAC record., That is untill he went to Crime! Now he does as Prime will not hesitate to hit it so they can get a discount on the next record they pull!
Lets get this straight to all you trainees and students!
IF you do NOT have any CDL experience and do not hold a CDL you will NOT have a HireRight/DAC/USIS record! Unless that burger joint, machine operation, lawn work company uses DAC I would not worry about WASTING your one a year free DAC report that you can get!
You want your "driving history?" Go down to your drivers licensing agency, you know the place where you go and take a test, get your picture taken and look into the vision tester and get that piece of plastic. You pull out some cash or write a check for your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and for a price they will give you either the last 3,5,7, 10 or lifetime awards record called tickets you got during your lifetime of driving. Every little time you screwed up that you can't remember, they do! These tickets contrary to popular belief do NOT fall off your driving history! No they do NOT! When a company requests a drivers MVR they ask for a certain amount of years. Most ask for 3,7 or 10 years. Anything after any time frame they ask for they might not care about except for a DUI/DWI. "Forgetting" a DUI if asked for that information is stupid on anyones part as you just do not forget anything as dramatic as that night and the next months of preparing for court and collecting all that money!
Any way forget the DAC crapola! Wait untill you have trucking experience before you go through the trash of getting your 1 free yearly copy!
Also DAC sends you a copy when a company requests your report! Better than "needing your copy!"
Rookies and trainees always do the "get your DAC" chant for some unknown reason! It's almost as if it's a big bad wolf story when sitting in classes and orientation!
The MVR works better for you when you fill out applications and really doesn't cost that much! let those BFI's that need a DAC pay their money!
Last tip: If you ask for your MVR get it in the 3 year record and then your life time. You can copy the 3 to send to any prospective company but you'll have the 10/life time to fill out an application if they ask for more than 3 on the application.
If you are any good with your scanner and they say they need maybe a 5 year MVR just copy it then cover any over that time frame they want and recopy the thing. Just as good as going back down to the MVR and spending more money!semiret, lunaglow and IronFreakinMaiden Thank this. -
Hey BFI master... companies can and do trash peoples past on DAC - go talk to the JB Hunt guys. If they released IFM for cause, there could be an entry for HER.
-
IP:
IFM is not a "her." He is a "him" through and through. He just happens to like the band Iron Maiden...which, I believe, was made up entirely of "hes" without any influence from a "her."
Just sayin'.rocknroll nik and lunaglow Thank this. -
Strange name for a dude...
-
Not pickin an argument or anything, but can't guys be fans of the 80's Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden?
rocknroll nik and lunaglow Thank this. -
Not if you're an Iron Maiden fan.
UP THE IRONS!!!!
Injun, rocknroll nik and lunaglow Thank this. -
They definitely can! They are NOT a hair band either, which makes them cool. They are also a really kick axe band. Steve Harris, the bass player is GOD to us bass players too!

rocknroll nik, lunaglow and Injun Thank this. -
Neener-neener! Beat ya to it!

The awesome thing about Steve Harris is that he's not much taller than me, and he's bouncing around on stage like the energizer bunny while playing those awesome bass lines of his.Injun Thanks this.
