:biggrin_25526:Hi there I am new to this Forum. I am a Newbie kind of sorta. I was married to a Driver for 2o+ yrs. Now separated. I am going into the Trucking industry. I have been accepted at the SWIFT driving academy. But not real sure about them. I have a dog and they do not have a pet rider program any more. So I am looking into FFE because they do have one. One of the very few companies out there that do and offer a school to learn. I have not been able to find much about the company that is recent information. I know that they have a new school in FT Worth Texas I live in Texas. Do they allow you to drive the truck home? What is there pay after you graduate? Do they have APUs? I have spent the last 6 months out 24/7 with my husband on a PRIME truck. Do not get me started on them! Bad experience all the way around.

I would appreciate any information about them but preferably from someone who drives for them and knows the company well.

Lunaglo, I am new to this thread, am looking at Prime for training, been doing research for a year and they so far have come out on top. But being new and seeing someone who has had a bad Exp. has me concerned. Was he a l/o, o/o, or company driver? If you want you can pm me. I would like to hear. Also, have a close relative who went through Swift driving school and is driving for them now.First year was real bad as far as miles and pay ( some weeks checks were only 60.00 to 200.00 ) best one was a little over 500.00. Is on third truck in a year, seems to spend more time in shop ( all 3 trucks ), issues that was not drivers fault ( all Volvo's ). Please keep posting on your exp.

I am in Katy Texas just west of Houston. No I really did not. Swift has a school around Dallas and one in San Antonio I am just 3 hours from SA here and my kids are in Austin which is only an hour away from SA. So that had a little to do with my decision. I start at SWIFT Academy on the 16th of this month. As far as pay goes. You are going to have your good weeks and your bad weeks. Just keep that left door closed and the wheels rolling. Also you can expect a slow down in freight from Thanksgiving until after the 1st. So if you can get you some money stuck aside your gonna need it. :biggrin_25519:
